Note: I'm mad!! There are emails "floating" around town and postings

http://losbarriles.ning.com/ that were never on the BPE. I
heard several times, "Oh, I read it on the BPE!" and that's NOT
true! Please be sure you have the correct source before you

The 2nd Annual Festival Organica will be held throughout the day and
into the evening on Saturday, April 24th at the site of the San
Jose' Mercado Organico -
Huerta Maria (across fro the Jockey Club) -
The intent of this festival is to draw attention to the many
individuals, groups, schools and organizations in Baja California
Sur whose efforts contribute to a
greener community and also to raise awareness of environmental
problems and ways to become involved in finding solutions.
Activities will begin at 9:00am with an series of performers,
workshops and speakers that will run concurrently with the usual
Saturday Market.
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the 2010 Cholla
Awards -
The evening will end with music performed by the band Pura Vida
commencing at 7 pm.
Everyone is welcome! 9am to 9pm Saturday in San Jose' @ the San
Jose' Mercado Organico

a. Useful English/Spanish Dictionary Online - I found a very useful
online English / Spanish dictionary and Learning Resource at
http://www.spanishdict.com/dictionary . Unlike Google's, simple
translation utility, the online dictionary keeps a history of your
word searches, gives you links to similar words, links to other
language aids, and provides multiple translations and definitions of
words and phrases depending on context. For example, here are the

b. Todos Santos Fire Photos - Most of us remember the fire that
spread through Todos Santos several weeks ago. It's hard to imagine
the exact extent of burned area from the ground. Yesterday, while
flying over the city at an altitude of about 1000 feet, I took some
photos you may be interested in seeing that show the area affected
and new regrowth that has began. The photos can be viewed at my web

BANKING
a. I think the Dollar issue is being commented so out of order....
The correct information was given by Noelia from the Bancomer,
anybody else is just giving the information half way.... She said 3%
as a Retention Tax (Capital Gains Tax) those if us that are valid
business that pay taxes can deduct this from our annual payment....
Below there was another person who mention 2% (not 3% - 4%) they are
wrong in a way... Last year it was 2% this year from January 1st
2010 it's a 3% tax and over $15,000.00 Pesos or equivalent in USD at
the moment of depositing the Cash only.

Reply: Yes all banks are with this same Federal requirement
Say for example you have 4 banks accounts at different banks and you
are depositing CASH into them:
At each Bank you can deposit in CASH every month only up to
$15,000.00 Pesos (Equiv. In USD or any other currency for that goes)
with out paying the Federal Capital Gain Tax (IDE) if at any back
you should go over this amount then they will charge or collect or
retain (how ever you want to put it) 3% above the $15,000.00 Pesos
Bench Mark.
For example:
Bancomer you deposited during the month of March $20,000.00 Pesos;
Now we subtract from the total amount of $20,000.00 minus the
$15,000.00 (their limit) this bring us an over head of $5,000.00,
now this times 3% they will retain / collect/ charge from your
account $150.00 pesos only that month.
Now At Banamex, you had in March $13,500.00 pesos total deposited,
you will not be charge because you did not go over the Limit.
You can wire transfer and/or deposit checks into your pesos account
with out no limit nor No Charge of this Federal Tax.
I do recall about depositing or W/T into your Dollar Mexican
Accounts something about they have establish Limits that the Bank
has to keep a record of your transaccions.... I will find out
tomorrow at the bank about this.
I just log on this web page...http://www.bansefi.gob.mx/prodyserv/otros/Paginas/IDE.aspx
and I found out that this rule only applies to us as Sole
Proprietors... If you have a Mexican Corporation this does not
apply..... (at least that was this said), still looking for the
dollar deposits..
