LOST!
I LOST ONE OF MY CRUTCHES / WALKING STICK OUT OF THE BACK OF MY
TRUCK IN DOWNTOWN LOS
BARRILES LAST WEEK.
IT IS SILVER AND HAS AN ELBOW SUPPORT BUILT INTO IT.
I HAVE BEEN MANAGING WITH ONE CRUTCH, BUT IT IS TOUGH TO GET
ANYWHERE.

When driving from San Diego we found a motel just south of El
Rosario.
"Turista
Motel
Baja California", it was clean and comfortable with a
nice shower. A room with a king bed cost us 300 pesos. I forgot to
ask
if it was pet friendly but the number is 616-165-8999 at KM 55

GAS STATION
a. We too have had great and honest service at the new
Pemex north of
LB. I once gave the attendant a large bill by mistake and he pointed
that out and gave me the full change.
We fill diesel tanks for a boat as well as gas for our car so we do
a
lot of business there and have always had more than excellent
service.
Please let’s give them a chance!

emergency: this has been floating around the
internet for a while
now, but you should check out your particular car/alarm. You need to
be pretty close to the car for it to work, and it won't work (at
least
mine won't)
thru walls. Check it out before you count on it.

c. What is legal in Mexico for self protection...pepper spray??? And

tazers are going to be available in the states...will they be
legal in Mexico??? Just some questions that someone might be able to
answer for us. My husband Karl and I plan to spend our first winter
in Los
Barriles...coming with our friends Dee and Graham and another
couple so we are all traveling down the
BAJA together. We keep
reading on various sites we are crazy to drive down the
Baja at this
time. We are hoping this is not the case. We understand there are
issues with some police writing "bogus" tickets in Constitution. We
are suggesting that anyone traveling down make a laminated "copy" of
their driver's license. As retired police officers we feel the last
thing we want to do is hand over our one and only "real" driver's
license to the Mexican police. Thanks to anyone that can answer our

way we, as residents, are going to discourage criminal activity is
to
come together as a community and fight to keep our towns safe.

afraid that the criminal community will begin to realize that we are

very soft target--non-responsive police, older rich gringos who will
probably offer little resistance. Get your neighborhood watches
