Always been goal oriented? Worked hard to be able to retire with a
house in Mexico, and now you have achieved that goal? Now what? If
you feel something is missing how about joining us in the East Cape
Guild to help better the education of local students. If the goal
thing doesn’t work for you how about joining us to have some fun.
The Guild is having its March general meeting combined with a bingo
party on Wednesday, March 10. If you would like to meet Guild
members and learn more about the Guild while having fun, this is the
perfect opportunity. Bingo cards are limited and lunch will be
served so reservations are a must. Each bingo player must bring a
gift valued at approximately $10. Contact Jill Borggreve at cell
624-156-8739 or email
bjborg@earthlink.net.

Are you avoiding wheat?
In La Paz, the bakery Pan D'Les on Madero street at Ocampo now
carries a wide selection of gluten free products. Persons who need
or wish to avoid wheat and or gluten can still enjoy delicious
pancakes, cookies, pastas and quickbreads. Did you know that Maicena
cornstarch is made in a factory where wheat is used and may contain
traces of wheat? The bakery also has gluten free cornstarch. Soon to
come will be energy bars and white sandwich rolls. More information

STOLEN PANGAS...... I have received several similar emails. C
a. Heard on the V and from the State Police: 5 pangas with new
motors stolen at Pta. Arena. 4 recovered with drain plugs pulled,
sans motors. Pros from the mainland suspected; had to have a big
boat with crane to get the engines. Ken
also heard on the VHF a whale came up and rammed a panga off La
Ribera Sat. am. Knocked the panga 3 feet outta the water. Heard
there were some head injuries, and the boat didn't break up and made
it to shore ok; no confirmation on the injuries. ken
b. I got another email from a very reliable source that in fact
there were 5 pagas stolen off the fisherman's beach in La Ribera, 3
were found with no motors. Cheryl

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
Boy, did I get the emails on this one! Looks like the US
and Mexico BORDER towns spring ahead on March 14th.
Baja Sur, (La Paz) and the rest of Mexico move their clocks on April
4th. Here is a note from Roz in La Paz.
La Paz switches to Daylight Savings Time April 4, Easter Sunday,
along with most of the rest of Mexico. The U.S., Canada and Mexican
cities within 20 kilometres of the U.S. border (in Baja California,
that’s Tijuana and Mexicali) make the switch March 14. Here are two
sources that explain it all: CENAM Centro Nacional de Metrologia
online at http://www.cenam. mx/hora_oficial and Wikipedia at http://es.wikipedia
.org/wiki/ Horario_de_ verano_en_ el_mundo
