a. Just got an update on the whale ramming incident. A father and son were out with pangero Pedro when the boat got rammed. Boat was sent 3 meters in to the air; hatches and stowage went flying. Father has leg injuries, son had 18 stitches for head lacerations. No word on condition of the panga. Ken

b. "also heard on the VHF a whale came up and rammed a panga off La Ribera Sat. am. Knocked the panga 3 feet outta the water. Heard there were some head injuries, and the boat didn't break up and made it to shore ok; no confirmation on the injuries. ken"
