Everybody uses lead-acid batteries for autos ,boats, and Solar. All types of these batteries require "Distilled Water" to keep them full.Out environment, including the Sea, takes a serious toll on these batteries .I had asked "Chapitos Mkt." To get some in gallon bottles and guess what; They did! They are stacked on the floor in front of the Dairy/milk area. Dale

****NEW PET UPDATE*****

Here's another new one for ya!!!!

We fly back and forth from San Jose to Los Angeles every other weekend. Needless to say, everyone in customs and immigration know us very well...:-) We ALWAYS fly with our chihuahua and sometimes with our larger dogs too.
When we flew in last weekend, our "buddy" in customs at SJD, stopped us and said he now has to look through luggage when someone flies in with a dog. They are looking for any pet food or pet products with a label that says "Made with real beef or meat" in it. So, we always bring down bones and treats for our dogs and the ALMA dogs, but this time, customs took about 10 packs of bones and treats. We did, however, get to keep anything that said, "artificial beef flavoring" - in other words, they do know what "artificial" means.

The one thing I noticed was that 1. we were the only ones flying in with a dog, so our customs buddy didn't have anything else to do, and 2. the airport was VERY empty and there weren't a lot of flights coming in at the same time. So, it's possible this doesn't happen when there's a lot of commotion/people going on.

So, the moral of the story is, - if you happen to get searched, you will lose any and all treats or food with beef or meat in them. The vet clinic in Playa Norte has a great supply of Science Diet and other pet foods and treats. No need to risk your pet food and treats getting confiscated, and the vets in Playa Norte can use your business!!

If you have any other questions re: flying into SJD with a pet, please feel free to contact us. We"ve become fairly fluent with everything you can possibly expect...:-)))) and don't forget, you animal lovers, ALMA needs your help - donations, goods for the rummage sale, foster care, and much more!!! You can reach us at janelinmex@yahoo.com  - safe travels!!!

Support the Surf!
Please take the B.C.S. online surf valuation and community participation survey and help us to better understand the social, environmental, and economic contributions of the surfing community to the Mexican state of B.C.S. in order to be better represented when proposed coastal development projects threaten marine and coastal ecosystems, and our favorite surf breaks. Additionally, we’re working to better understand your preference for the location of a national or regional Mexican Surfing Reserve in B.C.S. Contact aschneller@fieldstudies.org for more info.
