Playa Norte RV Park, is a private clinic who works sometimes with
A.L.M.A. Humanitaria, the clinic does not belong to A.L.M.A., in the
last weeks people dump dogs without notice to the vets and even to
A.L.M.A., from now on all pets dumped at the clinic will be put
down, since A.L.M.A., or the clinic does not have the resources to

The East Cape Health Center recently donated our
blood bank refrigerator to Amerimed. Our goal is in helping others.
It was vital for the blood bank issue in Los Cabos to ensure blood
and plasma is always available. According to a recent article from
the Gringo Gazette "...the sad Mexican donor stats show only 2% of
blood donated comes from volunteers. 98% of donors do it because a
loved one will die without it...."
The Mobile Blood Bank from La Paz will be parked in front of
Amerimed, in Los Cabos, on Sunday, June 29 between 7am - 1pm. For

They are hoping for 200 donors which will help the children with
leukemia.

I am pleased to announce the winners of the 1st
Annual Los Cabos Essay Writing Contest.
First prize, a day of fishing from Pisces Sportfishing Fleet, was
awarded to Betsabe Sosa Vidana who chose to write about Cristiano
Ronaldo. Second prize, $2,000 pesos went to Glenda Peralta for her
essay about Amelia Earhart. Both winners are enrolled at Instituto
Ich Yenekamu. Congratulations!
I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to all participants for their
efforts and hope to see submissions from all again next year.
Additionally, I want to express my appreciation for the judges who
spent several hours reading and reviewing each essay thoughtfully
and meticulously and to Tracy Ehrenberg for her generous donation of
the Pisces Sportfishing package.
The topic and deadline for the 2nd Annual Los Cabos Essay Contest

b. iPhone question: I am using an iphone with AT&T. It works
here like a Mex. cell except that I cannot text to a Mexican cell
phone. when I enter a number to text, an additional "1" is added at
the beginning of the number, then the text comes back with an
invalid number. Does anyone know how to solve this?
