Congratulations to the winners of
the Spring 2014 Baja Ha Ha golf Tournament. It was a sale out with a
record breaking number of tickets sold.
New champions are the Desert course winners Bernie Bathgate, Sue
Hatfield, Gwen Bathgate,and Gary Gierlich after a single hole play
off against the Ocean course winners who were Phil Deane, Doug
Steere, Steve Fowler, and Mike Velasquez.
The perpetual Trophy was awarded at the East Cape Guild's BBQ Dinner
Saturday Evening . Once again the real winners are the local
students who will receive scholarships from the Proceeds of this and
other East Cape Guild Events. Thank you to all participants and
volunteers who make this event such a big success.

I would like to give thanks and appreciation for the
team at Char’s new clinic. My husband had an episode two weeks
ago about noon and I got him to Char’s clinic. He was advised to
go to the hospital but refused….about 3 30 another episode occurred
(I am thinking stroke) This time I was in charge of him, called
Char again and she had the ambulance come and we were off to
Amerimed in San Jose . We had wonderful care in S J from the
moment we hit the door. Many test were given with no answers as to
what happened. Then an amazing thing happened, he had a seizure in
front of the doctors. This saved a lot of further testing. We
spent several days in S J and have been home for 2 weeks and things
are good....
I learned many things from this experience. When Char says
go….Go and remember the sick person is not in charge.
These seizures may have been caused by taking Benedryl for sleeping
at night. The doctors were not happy to hear this fact…..Anyone
over 60 should be aware of Benedryl and come to find out it is the
main ingredient in Advil PM . He maybe have been the one in 100
but it was very very scary.
I want to say a huge thank you for the team at the new East Cape
Care Center they were just the very best......
We thank everyone for their concern, love and prayers and as I
always say .....IT IS THE PEOPLE THAT MAKE LOS BARRILES SUCH AN
AMAZING WONDERFUL PLACE TO LIVE.
