Smart phone tracking:
Just when you thought that the NSA were the only folks tracking you.
Well, there's more. There are a number of tech business that can
track your smart phone with intricate detail. They know what store
you are in, what aisle and where you stopped in that aisle. Your
phone emits a ping with your specific location and phones MAC
address that after time these companies will know your specific
behavior and with that data know who you are. So just what do they
do with this data? Excellent question and I'm glad you asked. Those
tracking companies sell that information to participating stores.
You can expect targeted ads, discount offers, and/or
recommendations. This may not be a bad idea. If you're in a strange
city (strange meaning one you don't visit often), your phone may
recommend a nice restaurant that it knows you may like based on
previous history. You may be walking by a store that the phone knows
you would be interested in specific sale items in that store. On the
other hand, you just may not want that service or are just plain
upset with the idea. There is a beta site started by these companies
fearing negative public reaction. Here is the link:
http://smartstoreprivacy.org
/ In Los Barriles, we are pretty safe. I don't think Chapitos is a
participating store.
Apple does track your Iphone and Ipad. They use that
data to help you recover lost devices. They deny any other usage.
Android phones with the newer operating systems already
offer targeted advice such as local weather, stock market reports,
birthdays, etc. You can opt out right from that prompt.

DISCUSSIONS-
This category must have name and/or email address.
a. We have found that some "septic gases" find there way into
the home via an EMPTY TRAP. The loop under each sink, shower
and toilet must be full of water in order to keep out the stink.
The water evaporates with time and heat, when left unmoved.
You maybe could put rubber pads over filled with water traps when
you are away.

d. Anyone need a car driven north to the west coast of the USA
in late April or early May? We are a couple in our late 20's. We
have fallen in love with the beauty of Baja and therefore are
interested in driving instead of flying. We are both great drivers
and very responsible.
