 RECYCLE NEWS: Next THURSDAY, JUNE 5 is our next Recycle Collection Day. Please VOLUNTEER if you can spare one hour to help us, as many of our regular volunteers are gone. It's not too hard and many hands make the sorting, stomping and loading fast and fun. Bring a hat, gloves and a smile! We will be collecting from 9-11 am at our Recycling Center located at the south end of East Cape Casas and RV Resort (entrance across from the Modelorama). As always, we want to thank East Cape Casas and RV Resort for their continuing generosity! And please make a donation to support our ALL VOLUNTEER organization ($70 pesos is suggested). We must pay for gas and our driver for transport each month! FYI: We will be collecting in July and August.
EXCITING RECYCLE NEWS! As announced last month, We can now accept PLASTIC BAGS!! We have located a recycler in LaPaz who will accept ALL types of CLEAN plastic bags (except the large black trash bags). After many years of trying to solve this problem, we hope this will be a permanent solution to much of the plastic bag pollution in our sensitive marine environment, not to mention an eyesore on our highways and beaches. Make sure they are CLEAN (with no food remnants!) or they cannot be recycled. Questions: lynnmirassou@gmail.com 
Sadly, we will no longer be able to take colored glass (including wine bottles) until further notice. Our Bottles for Bob program is ending for the year, and thank you to those who thoughtfully participated. ECRB will continue to search for a source to recycle the colored glass that is so popular in our community.
Perhaps we can all switch to white wine?? Ok, just kidding :-) We can still accept all clear glass.

Computer Scam:  I just escaped handing over control of my computer to a scammer with an Indian accent who informed me that he was calling because Microsoft had received several Malware alerts for my computer. He told me to press a couple of keys to open the Run box, and then type in the name of what he said was an anti-malware program which would fix my problems. Luckily I didn't do it as it all seemed a bit strange. Later, I consulted a software tech friend of mine who confirmed that Microsoft never phones people. If I had done as advised, the result would have been to allow the scammers to control my computer and all the information on it. The person was phoning from what sounded like a call centre, with a lot of talking noise in the background. A few days previously I had call from an Indian woman also saying she was calling about my Microsoft computer, but I was on my way out so I hung up. Makes me think this could be a wide-spread scam. chris.bradley3@gmail.com
