My neighbor flew in last week.  After receiving the green light and approaching the exit door a customs officer waved her over to an inspection table and proceeded to search her purse.  Because of  a previous notification on the BPE she watched the inspection like a hawk.  Nothing was found in the purse and she left, no problems.

BAJA NIGHT SKY, Nov. 16/17, 2014. 1. The Leonoid meteor shower begins late Monday evening. Early Tuesday morning, from about 4:30 to 5:30am, usually produces a dozen or more meteors. The planet Jupiter is high in the eastern sky in the constellation Leo. As its name implies, the Leonoids appear to originate from Leo. If you spot two shooting stars--meteors-- trace their paths backward and they will likely come close to crossing close to Jupiter in Leo. In La Ventana, look for the Big Dipper standing vertically on its handle over the center of Cerralvo. For other locations look to the NE. Arcturus is over the south end of the island. 2. While waiting for a meteor to flash across the sky, look to the south. Just above the horizon, there are four stars that form a cross on its side. This is the false cross. When the Southern cross is directly in the south later in the year, it will stand upright. 3. Looking directly south, find Sirius, the brightest star in our sky. Far below it is the second brightest, Canopus. The Winter Hexagon is high in the southwest. Start at Sirius and go clockwise to find Procyon, Pollux& Castor, west to Capella, then down to Aldebaran, back east to Rigel, and finally end back at Sirius. Of course that is the constellation Orion standing on the star Rigel. 4. Evening observers should be outside by 7pm. Directly south is the star Fomalhaut (pronounced Foam-a-lot). It is a loner with no other bright stars nearby. Using indirect methods, Astronomers have recently discovered many exoplanets orbiting other stars. But the one orbiting Fomalhaut is the first discovered directly from a photograph. Overhead between about 7 and 9pm floats the Great Square of Pegasus. Not far to the north of its bright NE corner is the Andromeda galaxy, our nearest sister galaxy visible from the northern hemisphere. It forms a large, faint spiral that is easy to spot with binoculars in a dark sky. Scan slowly back and forth as you move north from the corner of the Great Square. Close to 7pm, look for Mars in the SW directly above the Teakettle asterism in the constellation Sagittarius. The other planets are too close to the sun to see for now.
