The first international flight to arrive at SJD, just to set the story straight, was a United flight.  It arrived before the Alaska Airlines Flight.  I was holding a ticket outbound and standing at the glass upstairs in terminal two.  Because it was the first international incoming plane the airport firetrucks were stationed so that the plane had to taxi in between them.  As it did the trucks turned on the water cannons and created an arch for the plane to go through.  As it passed through they made sure to give the windshield a good soaking as well.  The personnel there confirmed it to be the first and that's why the watery reception was provided.  My own experience was extremely positive.  Every passenger was assigned a personal valet who walked you through the terminal and up to your gate; lots of federal police with smiles for everyone.  Both of my checked bags and my carry on were way oversize and over weight.  They said nothing and I was even allowed to walk on board with a quart of bottled water in plain sight.  No customs checking bags at all. I can only speak on behalf of the outbound passengers on my flight.  It was unanimous that there is nothing to worry about at SJD.  Even the girl with the luggage cart refused my tip.  I will have to admit that I walked away feeling a bit guilty that I had not insisted that she take it.  In retrospect, I was in shock at how together terminal two is and how genuinely cordial everyone was.  I flew into Houston/Bush International on my way to Denver reminded of how our president handled Katrina.  Cudos to the Mexican Government.  Thom Davis

a.  Re: Does the Cowboy Motel in Guerrero Negro allow pets?
It did when we stayed there in April, 2013. But unfortunately, the room was not very clean or comfortable. To be fair, they were still under construction at the time.  The Halfway Inn at the state line also accepts dogs. The location is not exactly glamorous, but the hotel is being refurbished and is now much better than at the end its former life as a dilapidated Desert Inn. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

b.  Bug Spray:
          1)  Chapito's Pharmacy has mosquito spray.
          2)  We very much like the Watkins Repellent Lotion, available from Amazon.com.  Doesn't smell l                     like poison, goes on smoothly, lasts forever (I only need to apply twice a day).

c.  Bancomer -  Access  -  Apple
          1)  I just downloaded and updated Google’s browser “Chrome” and had no trouble accessing my Bancomer accounts on my mid-2011 MacBook Air.  Perhaps the browser is the key rather than the operating system or hardware of the computer from which you are trying to access the bank.
            2)  I just signed into my Bancomer account in LB using a Mac with the Chrome browser.  I did get a momentary response from the Bancomer site that I had the wrong account number.  I ignored that and clicked through with no other issues.  FYI the chrome browser is more secure on both platforms (Mac or PC).  Chrome uses its own version of Flash Player that is always more current and secure. QUESTIONS - Please share your answers 

a.  Is Hwy 1 between Los Barriles and La Paz is driveable, or will it be by November? I am considering a trip to meet up with my sister and her husband who are bike touring down Baja, and so I need to make sure we will be able to drive to La Paz to pick them up from Los Barriles before I make my plans. And is the hurricane season usually done by then? I hope you don't have any more bad hurricanes this season! Lastly, any recommendations on places to stay that are not over the top but nice but reasonable? Thanks.   karenmorey@hotmail.com
