The 9th annual Casting 4 Soles shoe give away will be held on
Saturday, February 7th from 7am to 2pm at the Cancha in Los
Barriles. We will be giving away a brand new pair of shoes and a
t-shirt to each person that comes to the event. Casting 4 Soles has
been helping those in need here in Los Barriles for the past 8 years
and it is always a well attended event. Local volunteers are a big
part of making this event go off as smoothly as it has throughout
the years. We are once again asking the local community to help out
on Saturday February 7th from 6:30am to 2pm. Volunteers are needed
to help distribute the more than 3,000 pairs of shoes we will have
on hand. If you would like to take part in this wonderful event,

Los Barriles Dog Show Update: We would like to announce that,
due to the popularity of The Los Barriles Dog Show, we are changing
venues for both the training and the show to The Hotel Palmas De
Cortez. Thank you to Van Wormer Resorts for their help and support.
We have also been asked about our sponsors, and we wanted to let you
know that none of this would be happening without the support of
Annex Brands Inc., QuadMan, Copper River Designs, E.P.B, Baja
Awesome Sportsfishing, Salon De Cortez, LB Properties, Playa Norte
RV Park, NuEra, The supPOCKET and Hill’s Science Diet. Monies raised
by the training and the dog show will go towards neutering & spaying
activities.

Agility Training: We’re delighted to announce that we have
now opened up a third session training session! Tracey Lewis will be
emailing those who have already registered with timings and
information. However, if you haven’t already registered, we have now
started a waiting list, and you will be added to this just in case
of drop-outs. Payment for the training must be made by Saturday 24th
January. The cost for the six week course is $400 pesos per dog and
payment can be made at The Barkery stand every Saturday at the
Community Market, or directly to Tracey Lewis (The Barkery), Annette
Kaiser or other committee members. No monies will be refunded for

The city has once again launched its discount program to generate
tax revenue just as early as they can haul it in. Those who
pay in January their property taxes that are due now, will get 20%
off, and the discount goes down 5% each month afterwards. As in 15%
for February, 10% for March and only 5% if you pay in April, Bunky.
Just make sure you ask for the discount at the city treasury teller,
or they will attempt to charge you full price. Online payments are
welcome at www.loscabos.gob.mx,
