I find it hard to believe
that people are still falling for the "friend in need" phone scam. I
got a call from someone claiming to be a "friend". The friend had a
bad connection and said he had a cold
and sore throat which made his voice different...very different.
Don't let someone dupe you, be sure just WHO you are talking to and
ask questions, are real friend will not mind.

If you had anything stolen
one good place to look is at a pawn shop, one such place is on the
road coming into La Paz on the right, look for a yellow facade with
articles in front of the store. Last time I saw used fishing
equipment and tools that are for sure from foreigners homes. If you
do find something that is yours you first make sure you have proof
that is yours (receipt or foto) then call the police at 066. JEB
