The HSBC Bank that was located near the marina in Cabo has moved it's location over to the WalMart complex. I went in there the other day to pay the fidecomiso fees for a friend of mine. So when the BPE starts up again you may want to let everyone know that they do not have to go into downtown Cabo to pay their fidecomiso fees (thank goodness!). There is plenty of parking at the WalMart complex and they were very efficient in processing my payments....

It's that time of year again . . . . are you ready for some football?

I am inviting you to join Smokey's private NFL Confidence Pool called SMOKEY'S PICKEM. Once again, the pool is being hosted on a website called officefootballpool.com.

The cost per player is $125.00 (U.S.) for the season. Weekly winner gets $5.00 (U.S.) x number of players. Again, remaining monies will be paid out at the end of the year for top three scorers. (Example: if we have 100 players, eack week will be worth $500.00 and there will be $2,750.00 up for grabs for the top three scorers at the end of the year). As always, you manage your picks online from anywhere in the world. Winnings for Baja players will be paid at Smokey's on a weekly basis. Just click on the link below to join.

There are some changes to this year's pool.

We are now doing a Confidence Pickem Pool. This means that we will pick games (including spreads) in addition to ranking the games between 1-16. If you win the game, you score the amount of points which you ranked the game. So, you rank the game you have the most confidence in at 16 and so on and so forth on down the line to 1. The player with the highest score (not neccesarily wins), will win the week. Most of you remember we did this type of pool during our first year.

From the $125 fee, 10% will be retained by pool administrator (me) to cover hosting fees and other administrative costs such as money orders, envelopes, postal costs, etc.

Another change . . . . . I will be announcing the pool on my website at www.bajapapas.com to all my clients at the smokehouse and grill & cantina. This means we will likely have many more players and the weekly payouts will be much higher. That is one reason we need to add the new wrinkle of the Confidence Pool so we avoid the risk of having a shark take our money every week.

Finally, no one, and I mean no one will be allowed to play if they have not paid fees IN FULL by start of the first regular season game!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once registered in the pool, fees can be delivered to Smokey's Grill & Cantina. You will be given a receipt. If you have questions about rules, they are posted on the site within our pool.

Good luck and I look forward to taking some of your money this year. Ha ha, I have not won a week in two years! But . . . . I'm tied for first place as of today!

Car On Ferry Response - this site has most of the info you need. www.bajaferries.com/ One problem though is you'll have to temp import your car to get to topolobampo(mainland) the permit is only good for six months then you have to return the car to the 'fronterra' or a border and resind the permit(there is no other place). If you don't you'll be on a list that will never allow you to temp import a vehicle to MX. (they'll think you sold the last one in MX.)
