This Sunday, 16 August, the Mayor of Los Barriles would like to
invite you to a Family night beginning at 5:00PM. at the small park
in front of the school. There will be food items on sale such as
Tamales, Tostadas, Empanadas, soft drinks, coffee and more. There
will also be games and singing by our local youth group. All
proceeds go towards the gowns etc. for the new Queen, not yet
elected, of the 20th November Pageant. Please stop by for an
afternoon of safe and sane entertainment. Hope to see you there!

Recently when we brought our Toyota 93 landcruiser down to leave at
our place in Cabo Pulmo, I cancelled our US insurance and bought
Mexican Insurance yearly. Now the DMV is cancelling our registration
without proof of US insurance, we are registered in CA, does anyone
have any experience in this?

Last spring there was a post about a couple of people that were
picking up recycling in Los Barriles. My husband spoke to them in
May 2009 and they said - "No problem, just let us know when you need
the p/u". I have been trying to get a hold of them this past week
and a half - the local phone numbers are not working and the email
remains unanswered. Have you heard anything about them recently?
Their company was called Navarro Corp. and their names Brenda and
Moises.
We now have a load of recycling and are going back to the States on
Sunday, 8/16. We did find the recycling place in La Paz yesterday
but they do not take glass...just thought I would check. I don't
know if I have any time to do a post before we go. Worst case is
that we haul our recycling up to La Paz in December but I wanted to
give these folks some business.

lately? Do they allow? I'm driving north with large dog (impossible
to hide) and would like to spend one night there. Any info
