I would like to know if anyone has the new 2008, or 2009 Diesel 6.4 that takes the ultra low sulfur diesel, and has driven down Baja in it. I have seen the question before, but nothing has been posted with any type of answer. We checked with each station as we drove down, and seem to have conflicting answers about the Diesel. The Ford Dealership in La Paz is selling the new 2010 Diesel trucks, and we had them do some research, and we were told by them that in September of 2009 Pemex is using the 15ppm of sulfur. We would like to hear from someone that has actually driven down Baja and used the diesel before taking the new truck to Baja.

I just crossed at Tecate on Tuesday morning. As usual, there was no interest in my two dogs. However, the immigration guy was outside with a clipboard, and wanted to know if I had a tourist visa, needed one, or in my case, wanted to see my exit document for my FM3 from the last time I left the country.

NEWS FROM LA PAZ
We will be at Subasta again this year popping up fresh kettle corn in our new "events" machine, so please come by and try a sample of this year's new popcorn crop, from our new machine.

Subasta is a benefit event including an auction and huge rummage sale for the benefit of children with limited resources. There are lots of great food booths too!

a. In response to net10 phones working in Baja. I have a net10 phone and it does not work from when I crossed the border in TJ to LaPaz to LaVentana, this was last tested about 2 months ago. I do not know what frequency my cell phone works at, mine is a Nokia. So my guess is it also would not work in Barriles area. I also leant it to a Canadian friend when they went to Ontario area and it did not work in Canada. Dean DeVolpi

b. Thanks to the 15 people who responded regarding health certificates for dogs when crossing border in personal vehicle. the consensus seemed to be "don't worry, just have papers in order showing vaccinations". Most of the time the dogs were ignored by) the immigration people. Looking forward to seeing all of our friends when we get to Los Barriles!! Patti Winn
