Spanish Classes are being offering in Los Barriles, B.C.S. for beginners, intermediate, or advanced. Classes are held on the main street 20 de Noviembre (just right across the street of the gulf course, in Hotel Palmas), behind the Montessori School.
Classes will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays per one and a half hour.

A recent update from American Consulate in Cabo San Lucas.
Contacted them in regards of getting something notarized (travel for parent with child) and was told for now they are not providing that service.
They said that you go to a local Notary and they will now take care of this.
Our local Notaria Publica 22 - Karim Martinez Lizarraga has the necessary form to make this happen.

The Los Barriles Montessorri Kindergarten wishes to extend a wholehearted gratitude to all the wonderful people who helped contribute towards the first phase of the addition project. When you drive by the kindergarten, please take a quick look at what your generosity helped to create and you will see that the original outdoor area at the top of the entrance steps has doubled in size! Next year, we will work towards phase two of this project, which will be a roof addition to the new floor extension.

Thanks again and please stay tuned for further fundraising that will take place once the 2009-2010 school year begins.

We, Mark Albertini, Louisa Taalbi, Monica Jazmin Olachea Carballo head mistress of the Buena Vista school " Jardin de Ninos Rafael Martinez # 03DJN0150K", all the kids at the school and their parents want to thank from the bottom of our hearts everyone who donated money and materials to the school - it was truly appreciated. The donations were:

1) $702.00 U.S Dollars.
2) $9,820.00 Pesos.
3) A music system, children's tapes, a VCR, 2 speakers and a television.

You might be wondering were the donations ended up right?. All the money was put into the school bank account and was matched by the Ayuntamiento. The school has since been painted, new water pump bought / installed and other projects pending.

Beware!!! This week we have been visited by Government Officials from INFONAVIT, similar to Social Security (IMSS) to comply with an Appointment Notice before them, once it has been received you have 6 days to gather a series of documents. I suggest that you get a hold of your Engineer of Records & Contractor &/or Person who paid your Social Security taxes to see if you have been invited or not....

This Appointment Notice (Citatorio) is only good those people who have built - from a fence wall to a Mansion - from the year of 2004 up to 2009 (they can only go back 5 years to audit you by law). Very important, this list was done on a Random Selecting, not everyone is on it.... BUT, for those who do not comply can be fined for $13,368.26 Pesos and most importantly that this paper will be posted on the gate of your house if they can not find you, your contractor, engineer of records or your accountant. I ask them to see if they could come back in the Fall/Winter but there is no guarantees.

For those of you who have been our clients in the past years and that we have submitted your Building Permits and for some we even provided you with paying your Social Security Taxes in your name we got you covered, at the present time we have right now 25 people listed. We have a copy of your files in our office of our work and we may need to contact your builder to provide us with a copy SS payment payments or to tell us who paid them for you so that we can gather the documents requested before Monday or Tuesday. We can apply for an extension in time to comply with the rest of the documents if needed.

INFONAVIT, Instituto del Fondo Nacional de la Vivienda para Los Trabajadores... Meaning "Institute of the National Housing Fund for Workers..... Similar in the US as a Social Housing Tax Program... This is a Workers/Labor Tax of 5% of what they make.... Normally this is collected when you pay your Social Security Payments every month during the construction phase.
