Charlene Wenger, Amerimed Hospitals and BUPA a winning combination
I gave up on insurance stateside after three years of applying full
time while living there.
In the spring of '07 I attended a "information on Mexican Insurance"
presentation posted in the BPE by who else but Char Wenger and
hosted at the Paradise Cafe.
The presentation by BUPA representatives was informative and very
well intended. I followed up with Char who answered my questions and
gave me the drill. I proceeded jumping the hoops applying for an
essential care policy with BUPA with Char's guidance and delivering
all the paper work . One thing that stuck with me was her statement
that BUPA was outstanding about timely reimbursement for your
expenses and that is why she endorses it so strongly. Its a given
that your CC gets you the care at the time you need it & insurance
reimburses you.
Low and behold I 'm one week out of successful hernia surgery.
Surgeon Dr Rochas and internist Dr Montes at Amerimed CSL were
thorough in their pre surgery consultations, explanations and
answers, all in English. I was very comfortable with the entire
staff at Amerimed CSL as I always have been with The Amerimed staff
in Los Barrilles. I only made two trips to CSL. Blood work and paper
work was done in Los Barriles and was well coordinated between
Amerimed staffs.
The real deal however is Charlene Wenger, RN, ARNP and lead mover
and shaker @ Amerimed in Los Barriles. She has been accessible and
forthcoming with information to recommend doctors and services ( I
saw a dermatologist a year ago recommended from her list) . To top
it all she has walked me through every stage of the BUPA insurance
maze before and after the hospital stay. She now has my receipts for
the bills and is walking them through the system. BUPA has an office
in CSL and she has re pore and regular communication there.
I could not be happier with the all the proceedings and quality of
care as well as thankful for the relatively stress free and
convenient surgery event I've had.
Thank You Char. (unsigned)

b. Our first recycling day was met with enthusiasm by a number of
happy recyclers! We can only grow from here!
The next recycle date is TUESDAY,
DECEMBER 8. The truck will park next to the pizza restaurant on the
highway in Los Barriles from 10am to 1pm. You can recycle:
ALL PAPER including magazines, newspapers, cardboard
PLASTIC BOTTLES--NOTE: the Navarros are talking with another
recycler who may be able to take ALL plastic, including the dreaded
bags! I would start saving all plastic and I will post an update as
soon as they know.
ALL METALS- steel, aluminum, all cans
ALL CLEAR GLASS-if you have a choice when you purchase, buy products
that come in clear, not colored glass
USED COOKING OIL
BATTERIES-all kinds
PRINTER CARTRIDGES/TONER-HP only
USED CLOTHING & FABRIC
Please remove caps from bottles and jars (not recyclable) and
separate items if possible. A 50 peso donation for gas is
appreciated. Talk to your neighbors and combine drop-offs!
Also The Navarros have room for pickups in Buena Vista, La Ribera
and other areas on the same day as Los Barriles. If there is someone
in each of these communities that wants to work with me to spread
the word and coordinate for your town, please contact me at
lynnmirassou@gmail.com
or 142-8085.
We now have a way to keep many items out of the landfill--isn't that
a great idea?
