Sunday, on the Ridge road, a very young tan and white male puppy,
maybe 2 months old. He is looking for a home. He is very sweet and
gentle. I have several dogs, and cannot keep him. Annette

Patronato Cabo del Este a nonprofit organization welcomes to
everyone to the beach!
Pepe Murrita has a team of wonderful volunteers they have been
checking on the locations and dates of turtles who
have layed eggs. We would like to you to witness this miracle of
life in Baja. The eggs take 45 days or so to mature.
We have set the date to release turtles for October 15th in front of
the Palmas de Cortez. Show up at 5pm and we
will get started.
We are going to make this an event to remember.
We will have a drawing contest for the children up to 14 yrs old.
Please have your child create their vision of turtles
and our Sea of Cortez. Use a piece of paper sized 10 by 12 and their
favorite coloring medium. Have them bring their
art here completed. We will award the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
winners with our new tee shirt. Everyone participating
will receive a certificate for the releasing of turtles.
Solomons Landing wil be participating in the festivities. We are
invited to join them for Ruggers turtle juice for the kids
and Kickaboo Turtle juice for the adults. They will have the bar
menu available in the resturant. There is something
delicious for each and everyone of us at a great price.

We plan to cross the border at Tecate on the way back down to Los
Barriles in a few weeks. Can someone out in "Ponyland" tell me the
hours during which the border is open? Though I'm assuming the
office where we can get our FM2's stamped is open the same hours,

When I returned to the US this past February I did not surrender my
FMT. I saw not a place to stop on my way to the border. I left La
Paz and drove to San Diego in a day ans a half because my dog was
having seizures and two vets in La Paz couldn't figure out what was
wrong. She died the day I got to Santa Fe. Bottom line, I still have
the tourist permit and now I read there is a $300/month fine for not
surrendering it. What suggestions, please? Ross Randall,

PETS
My pets and I have been traveling the Baja and traveling on the
ferry
to and from Nogales; also been through Tecate and San Isidro. It has
been my observation that most of the border crossing guards and
military stops are scared of dogs. They don't treat their animals
very
well, and most of them always asked me if my animals bite. I have a
Golden Retriever that hardly bites her food and Mexican Mix that is
also mellow. Years ago my dogs traveled in the back of my pick up,
now
my the rear window on my SUV opens and after inspecting or having me
open the back they ask if they bite and then just let me get going.
I
believe their fear of being bitten outways checking papers and
making
sure the dogs are legal.

c. We recently moved to
Baja with the assisitance of this travel trailer we gutted out and
used as a cargo trailer. The tires and wheels were new 2400 miles
ago when we left Washington State and I paid over 700 coconuts for
them, it also ahs a new tongue jack that was another 95 coconuts.
This would make a great Bodega or movable storage unit for someone.

d. This 1991 Chevy Blazer
4 door has four wheel drive (which does not work but I was told it
was probably a simple linkage adjustment). The Blazer has 126,000
original miles and has a lot of life left in her. This rig has been
a great Baja vehicle and needs a new home, we recently moved to Baja
full time and do not need a second vehicle.
