REMINDER; The first meeting of the East Cape Guild will be October
28, Weds., at 11 a.m. at Caleb's Restaurant. Everyone is welcome and
stay after the meeting for lunch and to socialize with friends, both
old and new. The Guild raises money so our kids can continue with
their education after junior high school and many of our scholarship
recipients have gone on to have rewarding careers.

San Jose Organic Market vendors meeting will be held 4pm Oct 24 at
Huerta Maria across from the Jockey Club. Anyone interested in
selling at this years market should attend this meeting to be
assured that they will have a space for the market opening Nov 7.

TRAVELING BAJA ONE
We just drove south through Cuidad Constitucion and were pulled over
for 3 traffic violations. We noticed the policia working the area
pulling over everyone. We even went to the police station but they
were in on the scam taking us to a back room, no receipt, no hard
copy of the ticket. If we wanted a receipt we had to wait until
Monday.

CALIFORNIA CARS IN BAJA
Another twist on continuing your California registration when your
car is in Baja. I have had mixed results using the Exclusion Form
when re-registering at the DMV office, but then I have lately been
taking it over to AAA and using the same form and getting my
registration sticker. But this last year it didn't work and I asked
why and the guy at AAA said that the Exclusion for Mexico was
eliminated because too many people were abusing it. He said I had to
get the DMV in Mexico to confirm that my car was actually in Mexico.
So I'm thinking that when I get to LB next week, I'll try to get the
local policia to write me a letter saying that yes, the car is here.
This may or may not work, we'll see. If not, I'll try the Chapter 27
thing.
