Palmas de Cortez. Anglers arrive on Wednesday and fish thurs. fri.

I talked to Oscar the vegetable guy yesterday and he told me he will
be at his new location tomorrow or the next day, which is next to
the Pizza place on the highway. He said he's had some car troubles.

Hola Amigos....We have had to cancel the El Rosario Festival
scheduled for October 25 due to the problems caused by hurricane
Rick. Whenever there is large amounts of rain, El Rosario becomes a
"slip and slide" experience due to the fact that it is located on
one of the most productive red clay deposits in BCS! We are
rescheduling it for Sunday, November 22...same time same place...so
get out your calendars again! Let's hope that we don't get another
"surprise" hurricane before this date! We'll be posting flyers with
the change of date a couple of weeks before the newly scheduled

I'm new to DRIVING the Baja and having an FM3.
I expect I should check in with the MX Immigration Office in Tecate,
but I 'm not sure. Plus, I don't know where that Office is or what
are it's hours of operation.
I'll drive to LB the first week of Nov. and drive back the last week
of March. Will be flying back and forth in between.
Can anyone advise me? Thank you so much.

We've just subscribed to BPE, as we are about to enter the Baja for
the first time (10 days from now). We plan to enter at Tecate. We
have a 26' fifth wheel, pulled by a 2WD pick-up, and we have a small
zodiac boat for fishing and snorkelling. We need info on
immigration, affordable RV parks, water purification, and just
generally how to behave to keep ourselves out of trouble with the
policia! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

BORDER CROSSINGS
Our border crossing at Tijuana was OK. We crossed at about 11AM on
October 15th. Because we were driving our big pickup with a canopy,
they pulled us over to a new special area on the left. They chatted
with us a bit, and asked if we were bringing anything to give away.
We said “no, it’s all our household stuff and luggage”. They then
talked it over between themselves (leaning against our truck!) then
said we could go. It all took about 45 seconds, and we never had to
get out of the truck or open it up. Nor do they ask for the dog’s
health certificate (which we had). Our friend following behind us
got the green light and was able to go right on through. All in all,
it was painless.
