We had our truck stolen from El Cardonal the night of August 11,
along with many items from our neighbor's, Larry and Carrie
Cornwall. Our truck is:

Walter S. Zapotoczny Jr., author and local resident, receives
prestigious award from the Military Writers Society of America
LOS BARRILES, Mexico. August 14, 2010 –
Walter S. Zapotoczny Jr. has received the Military Writers Society
of America (MWSA) Bronze Medal for 2010 for his book For The
Fatherland. Zapotoczny’s title, took top honors in the category of
Historical Fiction. His novel, available at Amazon.com, offers a
unique look at young Germans who were recruited into and became
enraptured by Hitler’s campaign.
MWSA President Joyce Faulkner, said, “Among
the benefits for Zapotoczny and other award winners will be
appearances on various Internet blogs and radio talk shows, features
on MWSA’s website and in our monthly Dispatches magazine, and
interviews on radio and public-access TV during our conference in
Pittsburgh.”
A native of Avonmore, Pennsylvania, Walter
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in world military
history and a Master of Arts degree with honors in history. After
retiring as the command historian of the U.S. Army’s 28th Infantry
Division, he works today as a freelance writer and contributing
writer for World Book Encyclopedia, World War II History Magazine,
and online publications. Walter has written on a variety of subjects
and is working on several books. He and his wife Bonnie currently

Zapotoczny is among more than 900 authors,
poets, and artists who comprise Military Writers Society of America.
