STOLEN BOATS

a. Received 8-26-10.
A Glacier Bay 22' fishing boat was taken last night from it's
mooring on the Sea of Cortez in front of the town of Los Barriles.
The name on the missing boat is FAT CAT
Double hull catamaran with two Honda motors
White with red trim and a red T top.
We are looking to pay someone to take their plane up to look for it ASAP

There is now three count missing boats.

b. Sadly on Wed. night or early Thurs. morning there were 4 boats taken from
there moorings in front of Spa and up thru to a bit north of Palmas.
2 pangas and two gringo boats ......... all under 25 ft. Three of the boats
were privately owned and one from the Palmas fleet. A pilot and plane were
hired to search both sides of the Sea of Cortez as far up as Topolabampo and
to Cabo Pulmo area. No luck.
This is the third time 4 boats at a time have been taken from this Eastcape
area.

"Amigos de Animales" has been improving the lives of domesticated animals on the East Cape since 2003. These days our volunteers help people get their pets into our local clinic for spays and neuters providing transportation, care-taking during recovery, and financial assistance as needed. We also vaccinate, educate, rescue, foster, and rehabilitate abandoned animals every day.
Unfortunately, all this takes more than the efforts of our wonderful volunteers. It also takes money, something we all know is harder to come by these days.
Fortunately, we have just received a generous challenge grant of $1,000US!
From now until Thanksgiving, every dollar you donate will be like giving two!
Please take advantage of this opportunity to make your donation go twice as far and help us continue our work with the animals.
Donations can be dropped off at the Homes and Land of Baja office in Los Barriles (next to Otra Vez restaurant) or contact us to arrange a pick up. Checks should be payable to "Amigos Internacionales de Los Animales A.C."

We are in desperate need of an air conditioning split or wall/window unit for the elementary school. We have little to no budget to purchase one so if anyone out there has one they'd like to donate and/or sell for a nominal price - please let me know as soon as possible. One of the 3rd grade classes has been moved into an unfinished classroom and we need all the help we can get to get it "classroom ready"!!!! We're also looking for some flooring tiles if anyone has some leftover from a construction project (preferably vinyl but we'll take terra cotta/marble/granite too..:-). They said that credit cards or pesos would only be acceptable and that this was going to be true at all restaurants and hotels in the country due to new government regulations.
