FM2, FM3 Discussion
Question: What are the rules/regulations if you already have
an FM3
and are a property owners but have never stayed more than
150 days in
Baja, Mexico? See below,
Our current FM3 Booklets are due for renewal in February
2011, but if we do not need to renew them due to the short
length of
our stay, what do we do when we want to leave Baja and fly
back to
Canada in 2011 as far as Immigration is concerned?
A) What one can do is to turn in the FM-3 to immigration
either in Los Cabos or in La Paz and ask for a permit to
exit the country.
B) Go out of the country with the FM-3, once back in Canada
send us via courier the FM-3, we will present it to
immigration to have it cancelled and provide you copy of the
letter emitted by immigration proving that the FM-3 was
cancelled. Our fee to do this is 100.00 US$ per FM-3.
When coming back in the country fill in the FMM and ask for
the time you want to be in the country or the maximum which
is 180 days. Remember that once the indicated time on the
FMM as run out one must exit the country or pay a fine if
one does not exit the country.
