10am to 2:30pm. Pre tour tickets will be at the Baja Beach company
in Plaza del Pueblo starting on Tuesday, February 2 for $50 pesos.
$75 peso day of the event tickets and maps will be available on the
porch between the Information Center and Otra Vez starting at 10am.
Proceeds go the community programs sponsored by the Associacion de
Artes.

Many of you may know, by sight, Chata, the
tan and white dog that lives behind Chapito's in Los Barriles. She
is a long familiar sight to many of us. You may have noticed that in
recent months she has developed two very large mammary tumors. An
ALMA volunteer took her to see Dr. Bravo last week. Dr. Bravo
examined her and said that she is a good candidate for surgery and
that these tumors can be removed. He says Chata still has a few good
years ahead. She needs our help.
There is also a dog in El Cardonal who
needs corrective surgery. Due to a severe injury to a rear leg he
underwent an attempt to set the broken leg....however, the medic who
did the surgery attached the lower portion of the leg and foot
backwards!!!! This dog has been accessed by Dr. Gabriel, a local
orthopedic veterinarian who says this dog's leg must be amputated.
He needs our help.
ALMA recognizes the need for both of these
dogs to be operated on as soon as possible.
The problem is the lack of available funds for these unexpected
needs.

Smokey’s Grill & Cantina would like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to
all of our amigos that attended our Super Bowl Bash and made it our
very best experience ever! The band “Pura Vida” was absolutely
awesome and thanks to them too! We had over three hundred people
attend at some point or another and we certainly appreciate that!
Congratulations to “Big Jim”, and Marc and
Theresa Kane, of Los Barriles, James Duffy, of all over the place,
and Theresa and Bill, of Wickenburg, AZ, who each took home a brand
spanking new Vizio Flat Screen HDTV! Also, congratulations to Duke
and Dina (everyone knows them) for taking home the sportfishing
charter, courtesy of Marlintini Sportfishing! Many others won a
bucketful of Zukers Lures and gift certs to Smokey’s and Baja Papa’s
East Cape Smokehouse! Congrats to all and once again, Thank You so
much to everyone who stopped by at some point or another during the
bash!
What it all means is that we’ve got to once
again out-do ourselves next year so look forward to that (Oh my)! We
want to include a new quad in next year’s raffle, we’ll see. We
planned on doing it this year but the economy did not permit. And of
course, we’ll have four more new Flat Screen HDTV’s and many more
great prizes next year! For now, take care and we hope you
periodically find your backside parked at Smokey’s Grill & Cantina!

SWEETHAEART SURPRISE: Manicure, pedicure, haircut and either a

BE MY VALENTINE: Manicure, pedicure, acupuncture and a choice of

KISS N MAKE-UP: Facial, eyelash tinting, eyebrow tinting, make-up

HEART THROB: Facial, acupuncture and a choice of either a 1 ½ hr,

your full address and detail of how to get to your house, within La
Ribera. Other areas there might be an extra charge for delivery on
the evening of February 13th.
