You can use Canadian credit cards, it will be almost impossible to
find a place that will take CAD (Canadian Dollars) currency.
CAD have to exchanged for USD or MXP (Mexican Pesos). They can use
their Canadian credit cards at any store.
VISA, MasterCard, etc. We would recommend to have a couple of backup
credit cards or payment options.
Canadian credit cards can be used with the Mexican ATM's with their
respective limit amounts per day and of course,
the ATM's fee per transaction. It is highly recommended to exchange
the CAD into USD before arriving/flying to Mexico.
(specially if you are coming to Baja).

RE: Sharing Dish Network Accounts
Per a recent post in the BPE asking to share a Dish Network
satellite TV account with a separate receiver, please be aware that
Dish Network can and will audit accounts with more than one receiver
not connected to the same US-based telephone line. If they suspect
an account, they will shut off the receivers and then wait for the
account holder to call. They are transferred to the Equipment
Verification department, who will then ask for information to be
read off the screens for each of the receivers. This may be
difficult to do if the receivers are located in another house, or
country.
Once the receivers have failed "the test," they are then marked in
Dish Network's system, and must be registered for separate accounts.
We have heard from a number of people who have been audited
recently. Better to have your own, separate account. - Alan,

Thanks to all the participants who came out New Year's day to join
in Club Rotario de Cabo Este's Run In The New Year. It was a great
morning for the run and the post-run breakfast around the Pool at
East Cape R.V. Resort was enjoyed by all. Thanks also to our

East Cape R.V. and Awesome Sportfishing for their support. We were
fortunate to have a large number of non-Rotarians help with the
production of the Run, including the local Policia and of course the

There’s a new gallery in Todos Santos and it’s time to celebrate!
The artists of Casa Catalina y Galeria, and owner Catherine Edwards,
invite you to attend our official Gallery Grand Opening on Thursday,
January 14, 2010 starting at 7PM. Six of Todos Santos’ well
established artists have joined forces with Catherine to create a
comprehensive collection of high-quality fine art and crafts.
Formerly Casa Juanita, the gallery has long been known for selling
the finest in mountain pottery, as well as, works by Catherine and
several other artists. Now, Diane Knight, Tori Sepulveda, Margy
Woodall, Roxanne Sparks, Gloria Santoyo Ruenitz and Mike McAllister
have expanded Casa Catalina y Galeria into a wonderful new space
that more than doubles the size of the shop.
With approximately fifty paintings in various media on exhibit, the
gallery offers a wide choice of styles, media and price. You’ll see
Diane Knight’s dramatic acrylic pieces that vibrate with the colors
and textures of Mexico. Tori Sepulveda, the mistress of all things
horses, shows horse portraits and many depictions of the classic
horsewomen of Coronela, as well as, several portraits of beautiful
Mexican women. Margy Woodall’s paintings of the everyday life and
beauty of the Baja grace many collectors’ walls both here and in the
United States. Roxanne Sparks, known for her jewel-like small
acrylic and pastel paintings, delightfully depicts the hidden
corners and paths of the Baja lifestyle. Gloria Santoyo Ruenitz,
master of the unusual and seldom seen encaustic wax painting method,
exhibits her works filled with the joys, sorrows and lives of
primarily Mexican women which hold universal truths for all of us.
Mike McAllister, known for his rich pastels and a wide variety of
subjects, continues to provide images that evoke good memories and
timeless beauty.
