       Recycle Day in Los Barriles!
Organized and sponsored by Los Tortugueros del Cabo Este
Saturday, January 23rd, 11am to 3pm
La Cancha (basketball court) in Los Barriles
       Preferably, the recycle items will not be flattened or separated as there will be a demonstration to the local community on how to properly condense and separate the items. The following items will be accepted on this recycle day:
Aluminum

Glass
Plastic
Cardboard
Paper
       Fun and educational activities will be offered to the local kids in an attempt to involve the local community. Invite your friends and neighbors, this will be another wonderful community event!

*RAKU WORKSHOP*

Students are invited to experiment with the use of clay using this ancient method of processing, to finish their clay pieces. You will be using the local clay body to make your pieces. For those wanting to use the wheel, this is your opportunity, as one will be available. You will be using a variety of techniques to form your pottery. It will be fired in a Raku kiln then placed hot, into containers of organic material, to produce the necessary reduction atmosphere. This is when we generate the beautiful metallic finishes ranging from reds to greens and yellows on the final product. I have numerous glazes available.
Venue: Los Barriles.
Date: January 25^th , 9-2. Firing dates to be determined.
Fees: US $50.00 which includes clay, the use of glazes, and firing.

Someone is stealing Telcel minutes. Someone has figured out how to program a cell phone/sim card with a different #, My #! Telcel was no help. According to them I made over 100 calls in 2 weeks but my call log only showed 7 calls. Telcel even hung up on me. Has anyone else out there in pony land has a similar problem? Watch your account balance. If this happens, as far as I can tell you need to buy a new phone and sim card. Michael

We flew out on Alaska on Jan. 6 and there was no escort. We were standing in line at the Alaska counter to check in and took turns going around to immigration so that when we finally got to the check-in counter we both already had our stamps and the little piece of paper to give to the lady at the counter.        Personal 'Life Story/Times of My Life' Collage Class with Sherry Duncan
Art class on Mar. 4th 10AM - 4 PM by Sherry Duncan
Where: Dondlinger’s in Loony Loop
       Put your story on the wall in your own home. This will be a fun class and you will have lots of assistance from the artist/teacher Sherry Duncan.
       Something to bring if you have them: frame, wood board for the ‘canvas’ area, glue gun, and
bring those things from your life that you wish to put in your personal collage about your life.
       An award or certificate of your past life achievements, a letter, a pressed flower, your first license (for whatever) a picture from your past, an old paint brush if you are an artist, and anything that you love and wish to not have in a box hidden away anymore. Put some of your treasured memories out so that you can enjoy them every day when you walk by them hanging in you home.
       Bring an old (or new) frame, any size. If you do not have one, there will be some available to choose from. Bring any of your art supplies that you have and want to use. Paints and other misc. things will be provided.
       Use fake birds +/o flowers and 1/2 of a birdcage to make your art about freedom, flying and being feeling caged etc (or not). Papellerias are good place for buying symbols as are churches for milagros, some fabric stores have marvelous fabric for use in collages, acrylic paints small jars, segunda items, bring kola loca for hard to adhere items....white comex is a good primer for wood or bring a canvas or box etc. etc. etc. It is your 'masterpiece so use your imagination .... anything goes.
       Or do something for someone else as a gift of your life.
Some materials available: old frames and misc. to choose from for back ground or additions to your collage.
