ROAD REPORTS

If anyone makes it up or down Baja One, can you let the BPE know as soon as possible. I have several people waiting for first-hand info from the "Horses Mouth". The minute I get a successful road report, I'll send it out ASAP. Cheryl If any one gets a couple of pictures, I'll post them also.

1-14-10 5pm: As of today, Sunday, January 24th the road is still closed south of Ensenada. The federal police say that it is supposed to open on Tuesday however more rain is expected on that day so we shall see. Will keep you posted if we learn any more. Frito & Sherry

LOST!
Yesterday afternoon my mother was traveling from my house in los Frailes to LB. She was traveling in a truck w/ a friend and lost a bag that was in the back of the truck. We believe it was lost between here & la Ribera. It is beige and has a paisley print on it. Inside were toiletries, curling iron, hair dryer, clothing, slippers, sandals a calendar and a curtain. RE SF and NY Local Network Channels Through All American Direct
- Both the SF and NY local network channels can be received in BCS from Dish Network's main satellite with equal signal strength. You will need a larger dish as you move further south, with a minimum of a 1.0 meter (40") dish by the time you reach Guerrero Negro. We use 4' to 6' dishes in the Los Cabos region.

DENTIST

a. In regards to Rosa Pena, I have been there twice. Once for a loose crown and once to replace a veneer. The veneer was OK not great as it doesn't match perfectly in shape or color. I would suggest Edward Telemontes 612 1227343 in La Paz. Or our local Los Barriles dentist. I have had 2 root canals done by Dr. Telemontes and both were perfect. My wife had a new bridge done by our local dentist and it also is perfect.

c. Rosa has done extensive work for both myself and my husband. We have had crowns, bridges, root canals, fillings, cleanings, etc. She is wonderful and her prices (compared to US prices) are excellent (e.g., crown for under $400 USD). d. There are excellent dentists here in Los Cabos, Angels Touch does alot of advertising to gringos so their prices are more expensive. I use a dentist in Cabo who has been here for many many years, she's the most gentle dentist I've ever been to in my life and she speaks English plus her prices are extremely reasonable. e. re last posting.....Kevin didn't leave his email address but I highly recommend Angels Touch. I had 3 fillings and the best cleaning ever done by her for 255 dollars and also a tooth post implant done for 2150 by the oral surgeon there (including the tooth). f. I have had work done by Dr. Rosy Pena; cleaning, fillings, root canal, and caps. All in vary timely manner and at a reasonable price. I would recommend her.

i. I have had numerous appointments at the Angel's Touch Clinic and they are every bit as modern as what they do as are our dentists north of the border. The only thing missing is the high fees. I had gum surgery done on both bottom quadrants and am the only person I know who has gone through this without any infection at all. I had an extraction and a bridge installed in the front lower area and a filling with porcelain on the top. I was totally impressed with the gentleness and the caring they administered. I won't go to a dentist up herein Canada because, quite honestly, I am scared to death of them. Angel's Touch is the only dentist I have ever been to that did not hurt me - I couldn't recommend them any more highly than this.
