ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE SALON AND SPA DE CORTEZ:
Our land line 124 8056 was mistakenly connected to the Bayview
Restaurant. Efforts are being made to correct the situation, and
hopefully the problem will be resolved soon. Meanwhile we can be
reached through the hotel 141 0050. You can reach the salon by
calling Sandy’s cell 624 117 4088. We also can be reached by calling
Christine’s cell number 624 160 1203. Please be advised if Christine

message immediately. Appointments can also be made by e-mail.
Perhaps by booking a little ahead of time might help with this
situation. Hopefully these alternative means of contacting us will
be convenient. We appreciate your patience and use these alternative
phone numbers to contact us for the time being.

b. Mexican Car Insurance For Mexican Vehicles - Does anyone have a
good/inexpensive source for Mexican auto insurance for vehicles with
Mexican plates? Seems like all the companies selling Mexican auto
insurance on the Internet only provide it for US-plated vehicles

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
a. Diesel.
For three years now, my friend with an '07 GMC 3500 Duramax has been
bringing in his own ULSD fuel from the US. He has a large
supplemental tank on his truck, and also carries a number of jerry
cans. Plus, he arranges for others with room in their truck to carry
some for him. (Mind you, this is for a 5 month stay.) This past
April, I watched as a beautiful Class A coach was loaded onto a
low-boy in La Paz. Lots of white smoke from the exhaust pipe. He had
used Mexican diesel in his Caterpillar engine and his injectors were
shot. We both left the next morning, and we hop-scotched with the
decked Class A all the way back. Bottom line, is: If your truck is
'06 or newer and you're in Mexico for more than a tank full, don't
use Mexican diesel or you'll be sor-ry! I have looked around for my
friend, and apparently, there isn't an off-the-shelf additive that
will permit your ULSD fuel diesel engine to accept Mexican diesel
