I walk my dogs nearly every day ON LEASHES. I've had numerous very
disturbing encounters with people walking or running with their dogs
OFF leash. I'm sure most people believe their dogs are well behaved
and probably they are, EXCEPT when they see other dogs; particularly
dogs that are ON leashes. The ones who are not leashed seem to sense
the immediate disadvantage to the dogs that are leashed and on more
than one occasion, I've had the unleashed dogs come racing towards
my girls with who knows what sort of intentions. Most recently, a
rather large mixed breed dog came within a few feet of having it's
teeth on one of my dogs before the owner was able to call his dog
off. I realize there are no leash laws here in Mexico but I'm asking
all dog owners to please exercise good common sense. If you're going
to walk or run your dogs on public roads, please for the safety of
everyone, keep your dogs leashed at all times. If you feel you need
to let your dogs walk or run off leash, please select remote
locations where you will not encounter others.
