Rancho Buena Vista opened its doors and bar again Sunday,
with a few local supporters showing up to celebrate. Once
again locals will be able to drink at their favorite and
famous watering hole, and swim in the pool just steps from
the beach.
Tony Marron, is tending bar, and his son Thomas, will be
manning the front desk and taking room reservations. In
fact, there were three people staying there already when it
opened Sunday. They don’t have any food yet, but they do
have coffee in the bar in the morning. Locally, call Rancho
Buena Vista at 141-0177, the bar will be open from noon
until 8 or 9:00, seven days a week.

EAST CAPE HEALTH CENTER has recently expanded our coverage
area for the Children’s Dental Program. This year we have
been to our local school in the East Cape covering the
Kindergarten and Primary schools in Los Barriles, Buena
Vista, Campamento, Las Cuevas, El Cardonel, San Bartolo, and
the Ninos de La Paz Orphanage with our oral hygiene
instruction program, oral exams and registration of the
children for continued care..
We have screened over 500 children in 2011 so far and have
been fortunate enough to have enough supplies for all the
children, A BIG THANK YOU to the generous donors who made
this possible by contributing the dental materials such as
toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss.
East Cape Community Dental Clinic located at Plaza de Pueblo
#1 has divided our days; Children's Dentistry with Dr.
Veronica Tuchmann and Patricia Laguna on Fri and Sat and
Adult Dentistry Monday -Wednesday with Dr. Renan Pier and
Mary who also runs our Oral Hygiene Educational Program..
So far this year we have provided FREE dental treatment to
over 300 children.
To continue to this valuable program we need your continued
support. Our nonprofit is low on toothbrushes, toothpaste,
and cash donations. Remember if you use our Dental Clinic
all of those donations keep our dental clinic alive and
thriving, we appreciate you choosing our Dental Clinic for

We left to drive home to Santa Cruz last week. On the way
through south Constitution we were pulled over by a younger
policeman who had another policeman in the vehicle. Neither
officers had weapons in their holsters. He stated that we
drove through a stop sign. He wanted us to pay 1000 pesos
to him. We told him to take us to his captain and the
office. We followed him through a residential area that
began to look "wrong", we ended up parking in front of a
small cement building next to some houses with a hand
painted "emblem" on it, no letters etc... looked bogus.
With the other policeman looked on from the door way we
negotiated the pay off to about 200 pesos. He did not want
to write a ticket. Watch for broken street lights in
Constitution, could be a good way to get pay offs from
tourists.
