Club Rotario de Cabo Este hosted their annual Membership
Dinner at Las Palmas Hotel this past Saturday evening.
Rotary International District # 4100 Governor Temo Mendez
installed Eldon Hathaway as President for 2011-2012.
Governor Temo and his wife, Norma, came from Hermosillo for
this special event. The new Board of Directors was also
installed: President Elect – Barbara Fowler, Secretary –
Ivan Kaiser, Treasurer – Steve Fowler, Directors at Large –
Bill Barbour & Jim Hall and Past President – Jim Cunningham.
Tom Brogan was inducted as Rotary’s newest member. President
Eldon’s family flew in from Northern California for this
special occasion. Rotary breakfast meetings are held at Las
Palmas every Wednesday morning at 8 am.

a. TECATE CROSSING – Thanks to everyone who responded to my
request for road conditions on Mex 3 between Tecate and
Ensenada. Here is a summary of the comments I received:
“All of the previous construction had been paved, and the
roads were beautiful. There were a few minor clean-up crews
and some line painting etc. The only construction going on
was on the sides of the existing old roads, way off to the
sides. Only one short piece of dirt road! The new pavement
is beautiful. . . . Also, the construction near Santo Tomas
was done, and that stretch of road is great! “
QUESTIONS
a. I am looking for someone who has a 22-25 foot panga that
would like to sell 1/3 or 1/2 share. I come down to LB twice
each year for a week or two at a time, and don't want to
leave a boat sitting idle the rest of the year. If you live
down there most of the year, have a dependable panga, and
would like to sell part ownership, I am interested. I have
been operating boats for 25 years, so know what it takes to
