This Saturday is the day for Baja Ha Ha Golf and Mesquite
BBQ! It happens only once a year and this is the day so if
you ove beef, lamb and pork with all the Mexican side dishes
and like to mix fun with helping local students to higher
education support this East Cape Guild Event. Tickets are
$25 and includes both golf and dinner. 1 pm for golf in
the San Bartolo Arroyo. 5pm BBQ with no hostbar opening at

A special Music Event has been scheduled for Saturday, April
2 to celebrate Nicolas Carillo, the talented pianist and
director of the Museo de la Musica in El Triunfo. The event
opens at 10:00am with an expo of local foods and sweets and
items made by local artists. A trio from La Paz will be on
hand to entertain as well. At 2:00pm there will be a
presentation of books at the Casa del Artesano. The
highlight of the day will begin at 3:30pm with a concert at
the Museo de la Musica featuring Sr. Carillo and other
talented musicians. Tickets to the concert are available
with Maryzonia Diaz at the Cultural Center in San Antonio

I have been researching security systems that would help
prevent someone from cutting the line on our boat and towing
it out to sea without anyone knowing. I found a company that
has a sensor cable that activates an alarm siren on the boat
if the cable is broken. I plan to attach this cable to my
mooring line down to the ball and back to the unit. If the
line is cut or the boat breaks loose from the ball the alarm
will sound. The company advised me the cable can be ordered
any length. I am only making this info available. I have not
tested it yet nor am I recomending you buy it.

Friday evening at 7:45:05 pm an Iridium communication
satellite will appear over the north end of Cerralvo for
about 8 seconds as a bright, moving "flare" when it reflects
sunlight coming from below our western horizon. Watch the
area about half way to the zenith just under the bowl of the
big dipper. Some of these satellites have backups trailing
behind them by a few seconds so you might actually see two
"flares." Some local residents who regularly watched the
night skies before they were virtually blotted out by
outdoor house and streetlights have reported these flares as
"UFOs" after the satellites were first launched in 1998.

SCHOOL PROJECT –
Would you like to be a part of something really big, for
just a little money.
The school on the highway (7, 8, 9th grade) near the Pemex
has been serving food
for lunch which we would consider a "Cafeteria." They
currently use an old lean
to operation which is really poor. Alberto Cota from Baja
Properties has been
voted in this year as the President and he really wants to
make some long term
improvements. Here's the deal... The school would like to
build a permanent
structure which would take care of the Cafeteria and an
attached storage area
for sports equipment and maintenance items. What can you do
to help.. Jose Luis
just North of El Barrilito restaurant will sell cement
blocks 15 for 10 dollars or 150
blocks for 100 dollars or any amount you can give. Jose Luis
will give you a receipt then you take the receipt to Alberto
at Baja Properties. Also, if you have
any loose blocks lying around on your yard, take them to
Alberto. Every block will count!

Computer article:
There are two programs that are most notable based on the
general consensus of Tech Folks and Consumer Folks. My
personal favorite is Drop Box - Free download for PC's,
Android phones, Iphones, Ipads. Drop box allows you to
store valuable documents "on-line" as well as all your
computers and smart phones. The first 2 Gigs of storage are
free and I haven't come close to using all that space. I
scan or copy documents into the "Drop Box" folder on my main
computer. As I turn on additional computers and smart
phones, those documents are instantly copied to each device.
All my insurance documents, titles, registrations, ticket
info, etc are all available on my cell phone and all
computers. You can add additional documents from any of
your computers and they will be synced with all the other
devices. A real space saver is to convert files to the PDF
format through "Cute PDF" program.
Mint.com is an online web site offered by Quicken. Mint.com
will gather all of your financial data on one web site and
track all your data. Mint.com will alert you to any
significant changes and post weekly summaries. It's a
neater version of Quicken that is free. Your account
information is stored by Quicken on one server, your screen
names and passwords are store by another company on a
separate server. That company that stores your screen names
and passwords already has that information from your online
banks. I have used Mint for the past year without issues
and it is recommended by most of the financial guru's that I
listen to. There are apps for Android and Iphone users.
USAA.com - USAA (United Services Automobile Assc) is now
open to any service member on active duty or any person who
served honorably in the US Armed Services. They offer the
best insurance plans in the US. They are continually ranked
number one by Consumer Reports Magazine. They offer a wide
variety of Banking and Investment services at very low
rates. There was a change about 6 months ago that allowed
any prior service member to join. Once you are a member,
your kids are eligible as well. I've been with them for 42

e. We've been having a devil of a time getting mail through
Al Pagos. We are sharing a box and were the second party to
sign up. We have since heard that a friend attempted to
receive mail through Al Pagos in a shared box and were the
second to sign the contract and they never received any
mail! In both cases the first signers were getting mail and
the second signers have been having problems. Is this a
