Fellow East Capers.
I am helping an organization in the states which is the
International Emergency Services Fund ( IESF ). Iesfhelps.org
or facebook/international emergency services fund for more
information. I.E.S.F has helped other communities in Mexico
to improve their emergency services capabilities. IESF helps
by providing support, service and training in skills such as
Rescue, EMS First Aid, Auto Extrication, and
firefighting. This group has selected the Buena Vista Fire
Dept. and surrounding Los Barriles area emergency providers
for its next project. The plan is to supply rescue tools
such as Jaws of Life, firefighting & ems equipment, and
training to help the Bomberos become more effective. There
is also a possibility that IESF can help acquire Fire
Engines and or ambulances for the area as well. IESF also
hopes to work with our local East Cape Urgent Care Center to
improve emergency services in our area.
IESF is hosting a Billfish tournament May 19-20-21 as a
kind of Kick off for this project. After the tournament IESF
will be training the firefighters at Buena Vista in Auto
Extrication and vehicle accident rescue techniques.
I have offered to set up the fishing Tournament
for them. I have lined up 7 Super Pangas and hoped to fill
them with 2 or 3 anglers each. The firefighters from IESF
have filled 6 of the boats and I would like to fill the
other 1 or more with some of our local fishermen here.
We are also hoping to incorporate more fundraising
ideas into the tournament days if anyone would like to help.
