DOG CERTIFICATE DISCUSSION
a. Answer to dog health certificates when driving: We’ve
driven back and forth with several dogs for over 10 years,
and we have never been asked for health certificates for
them at border crossings, although we always have them in
hand. The only thing the US customs has asked about is dog
food. They have confiscated any extra dog food beyond that
day’s food for the dog (at border crossings and in
airports).

Restaurant Campestre in the Sierra de la Laguna Biosphere
Reserve, by the el Chorro Hot Springs, will be opening for
the next few weekends till Semana Santa, from Friday to
Sunday, noon till 6 pm. Authentic Mexican ranchero food
including Birria de Res (beef stew), Borego asado (local
lamb), hot tamales and other favorite dishes will be served.
Plan for a day of hiking, swimming, soaking in the hot
springs, with a great meal before or after. There is a 20
peso charge to enter the park. Go to Santiago, past the Zoo
and straight on the dirt road for 10 km to Agua Caliente,
3km more to el Chorro. Turn right after park entrance.

I will be showing my new Exvoto
Paintings at the Arts Festival
in Los Barriles on April 3rd.
This Mexican Folk Art is a
tradition of giving thanks to
someone (usually a Saint) for a
miracle (milagro).
My theme this year is animals! For
example, the Rooster tells
the hen they must give thanks to
the Virgin of Guadalupe for the
miracle that the farmer is a
vegetarian. This painting is sold but come see
what the cow, the dove, the whale
and the goat have to be thankful for!
I will also be showing my small
watercolours and some paintings by
