Super Bowl Sunday Smokey's

Note#1 I am going to
start up my TenPeso campaign
again for the East Cape Guild
Scholarship Fund. As you know, I
do not charge for the
BajaPonyExpress and because
everyone has either received a
lot of coconuts, knowledge or
laughs via the BPE, I am going
to ask that when you see me, put
a 10peso coin into my
Scholarship bolsa. My goal this
season will be 1200 Ten peso
coins (or equivalent). I'll give
periodic reports as to how the
coffer if filling up. And, I am
very proud to report that I
already have received 107 coins
from generous friends that were
anxious to get the ball rolling.
So, 1200 minus 107 is only 1093
to go! This should be easy since
the BPE goes out to almost 2000
email address every day. Thank

ATM DISCUSSION
a. I have been getting my cash
from the Los Barriles ATM's (Cajeros)
for almost 7 years. The costs of
making ATM withdrawals in Los
Barriles are as complicated as
the people who make them. They
are based on a number of things.
One is the exchange rate. We all
know what it is and we all know
that it changes regularly-every
day in most institutions. But
the rate is not universal. It
varies from Bank to bank. So,
the fact that this or that bank
does or does not levy ATM fees
is not the only factor is
deciding which offers the best
deal. There are other fees as
well. My primary bank charges me
no ATM fee but they do charge a
3% international exchange fee.
Another bank I use charges
neither but their exchange rate
it 2% higher. So, I recommend
that we accept the fact that the
banks are going to make money
from us and just do our best to
keep it at a minimum by
thoroughly doing our homework.

Love and Friendship Fair” sponsored by the Delegacion and the Narciso
Mendoza Primary School. There will be food, rides, sporting events, a
dance, crowning of the Queen, "Mil Corazones y un solo fin" walk/run, and an
afternoon Valentines’ Day celebration. This is the first ever! The theme
is: "Your best friend is...your Heart," or “Keeping our Hearts healthy
through exercise.” So, most of the events center around physical activities.
