Hola Compadres!
Are you ready for some football? Let's hope so because
we're going into our fifth season of hosting SMOKEY'S PICKEM'
FOOTBALL POOL. It's on online weekly football pool and anyone is
welcome to play. The cost is $125 per season and 100% of the
proceeds are paid out. We pay weekly pool winners and the top three
players split the remaining monies at the end of the season.
Smokey's earns $0 for hosting the pool but we sure have a lot of
fun.
To play, all you need is an internet connection so you
can log in and make your picks every week and $125 US. To join,

The pool rules are posted as well but in short, players simply pick
the winners of all games (including spreads) and the player with the
most wins earns the weekly pool. There are tiebreakers in place in
case of a tie. The weekly pool is based on the number of players x
$5. So if there are 40 players, each week is worth $200.
Feel free to invite other friends to play by forwarding
the link above. Pool fees must be paid in full prior to start of
regular season. Pool fees for Baja players can be paid at the
Smokehouse where you will recieve a receipt. If you are in the

a. My name is Mary Ann Klos and I recently bought a lot in Los
Barriles with the help of Pam Gray of "Homes and Land of Baja". I
don't know what I would have done without Pam guiding me through the
entire process of buying in Mexico. From the first days of making an
offer throughout the closing process, Pam Gray accompanied us and
made us feel welcome in a foreign country that we will soon call
"home". I have bought many homes in California and Hawaii but this
has been the smoothest transaction I have ever made. I look forward
to becoming a part of the Los Barriles community.

b. Question re new FM3 card. When I drove to the border and across
last June, I had stopped in Ensenada to see if they needed to know
that I was leaving the Country with my FM3 card. They said no, do
nothing. Now I'm heading back into Mexico. Does anyone know if I
need to stop at the border and tell them I'm coming back into the

(I do have one answer from my friend. There is a
fishing/sport/diving store in La Paz on the 16th of September up
about 6 blocks or so from La Purissima Ferreteria on the left hand
side that has a fairly good selection of spearfishing stuff for
regular folk.....)
