Note from Char
Finally home and recuperating :-P
I would like to thank those from the community who have supported me with thoughts, prayers, cards, flowers and even worry and concern during my forced sabbatical. Without going into the details I have circled the drain more than once only to appreciate a healthier life more than ever. I will be on my way back to Baja in less than a month following home therapy, hopefully back in the saddle and working again as soon as I return. The Medical clinic has been on cruise control under the guidance of my faithful staff, Bonnie, Dr. Rendon, Luis, Edgar and volunteers who keep things organized. The Dental Clinic continues with our Children's Program throughout the summer with Mary, Patty, Gail and of course Dr Pier and Dra Veronica. We will be in full swing again when I return. I'm ever so grateful for all these dedicated individuals who have devoted their time and energy to our cause of "Improved Emergency, Medical and Dental Services for East Cape"
Please accept my devoted gratitude, Char

Hi I am wondering if anyone knows of someplace willing to take puppies or if someone would be willing to take and foster or possible keep a little girl puppy. Someone left her in front of my house. I have 4 dogs and can not keep her. This is not the first time someone has left puppies. She is very sweet and very young. She is black with a white chest. maybe a lab mix. I would hate to see anything happen to her. If anyone has any thoughts or are willing to take her please let me know as soon as possible. I live in La Ribera. email. rpl2us@hotmail.com

East Capers Advertisers
Thank you for supporting the Asociación de Artes programs by purchasing advertising in the East Capers. All of the profits from the paper are used to support the programs for community children. In an effort to minimize expenses and make more money available for these programs, we have changed the way advertising payments and Facturas are processed.
Effectively immediately, Wolf Property Management, located in Plaza Liberdad, Los Barriles will manage the financial aspect of East Capers advertising. The good news is that when you take your payment to their office, you will leave with a Factura. Also, direct deposit of payment into the Asociación bank account can be arranged by contacting Octavio Esponda or Héctor Pérez at 624-124-8171.
The due date for ad changes and payments for the August 15 issue is July 27. Ad changes or updates will be processed by sending the changes to Walter at mail@wzaponline.com.
For new advertisers: Advertising Kits are available at the Wolf Management office and at Baja Beach Company, Plaza del Pueblo in Los Barriles or request one by sending an email to mail@wzaponline.com.
Thank you for helping us bring the arts to the local community and schools!

Netflix Expands To Mexico, South And Central America - Netflix has announced it will be expanding its streaming service to Mexico, South and Central America and the Caribbean later this year. The company will expand to 43 new countries with a staggered rollout.
Users in these countries will be able to watch global and local TV shows in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Just like in the U.S., the service will be viewable on computers, mobile devices and TVs. Says the company via its official blog:
Netflix members in the U.S. and Canada have really taken to watching instantly. We feel great about being able to offer the same combination of convenience, choice and value to people in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
Members in the region will be able to access Netflix.com in Spanish, Portuguese or English, depending on their preference, and will be able to enjoy entertainment on their TVs via a range of consumer electronics devices capable of streaming from Netflix, as well as on PCs, Macs and mobile devices.
We'll keep you posted on the dates when we plan to expand in the region and hope you'll spread the word that Netflix will soon be accessible throughout the Americas! Meantime, if you'd like to sign up for the Latin America service, go to www.netflix.com  and leave your info; we'll send an email reminder when the service launches.
In 2010, Netflix expanded the streaming service to Canada, its first step to move internationally. It is unclear what the service will be priced at in the new nations. - moderator@bajawesternonion.com

c. Hi: I'm hoping to get some information about driving from San Jose del Cabo to the U.S.
I drove down here 2 years ago from Calgary, Alberta, crossed over at Nogales and took the ferry from Topolabompo to La Paz. The roads were good and we had no trouble at all. However, I have heard reports that it is more dangerous to make this drive now.
The second option is driving up the Baja and crossing at Tijuana. I have a friend who just made this drive and he said road construction made the trip a nightmare.
I will traveling with my sister, my 11 year old grandson and a dog. Any advice as to the best and safest route? Thanks, Barbara Murphy
