This Thursday, the first Thursday of the month, April 7 is
recycle day! Please bring your recyclables to the East Cape
RV Resort across from the Modelorama and behind Otra Vez
between 9 am and 11 am. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Please, if you
can, lend a hand with crushing, stomping, sorting and
preparing our community's recyclables for their journey to
their next use. Also, your donations are keeping our efforts
alive and we appreciate your support. If you are northbound
for the season and preparing to leave Baja before next
Thursday, we want to accommodate you so you may drop your
recyclables off if you are leaving. ALSO, please consider
joining UVERDE this Thursday morning as well to clean up and
pick up in order to keep our lovely pueblo trash free.

Amerimed Clinic Los Barriles Announcement
With a heavy heart I share with you the loss of my good
friend and one of my essential mentors and immediate
supervisor, Rudolfo ‘Rudy’ Marino, who was the General
Manager of Amerimed Los Cabos. Just 44 years old and at the
height of his career, Rudy was a vital, energetic and
immensely intelligent man, whose greatest traits were
reflected in his kindness, his willingness to approach
problems with ease and his interest in the people that
worked for him and with him. He was extremely important to
the growth and improvement of health care and immediate
response in Los Cabos. Rudy’s influence and leadership, his
insight and energy will be terribly missed. Rudy was
especially proud of our Amerimed Clinic in Los Barriles and
was an invaluable supporter of our East Cape Community non
profit. He had just visited Los Barriles for our ‘Hail and
Farewell’ celebration for Dr. Cevallos, where many of you
may have met him. While driving on business between Cabo San
Lucas and La Paz, Rudy was killed in a one car accident.
Rudy is survived by his wife, along with a 4 year old
daughter and 7 year old son, as well as so many of us to
whom he was so important. Char Wenger, NP, Amerimed Los

THE ASSOCIACION de ARTES would like to thank the 30 people
that came for "Dinner & A Movie" night.The Hotel Los
Pescadores put on a great dinner enjoyed by all followed by
"Hello Dolly", unfortunately we missed the Last 10 min. of
the movie when the projector bulb gave out. This was our
last showing for this spring; as we move off day-light
savings time in the fall, we plan on getting the "Dinner & A
Movie" night back in full swing (with a new projector bulb)
with the first showing to be "The African Queen" so get out
your Humphrey Bogart and Audrey Hepburn and plan on a fun
night!

Sunday April 3rd in the wonderful grassy area in front of Palmas. In
the BBQ section you will be able to choose between HANDCRAFTED
hamburgers and cheese on a freshly baked bun from the Roadrunner
Bakery or a perfectly
grilled quarter pound polish dog with every condiment you can
imagine!
You will also be able to enjoy tacos al pastor or carne asada with
all of the traditional salsas and garnishments.
Please don't miss our snack food area with fruit flavored paletas or
ice cream on a stick, traditional sliced fruit in a cup with chili
powder salt and lime, and last but not least tostilocos....now just

Baja Marionettes: Do you know a fairy tale, fable, poem, or nursery
rhyme? Demonstrations of story telling throughout the day. Try your
hand at puppetry and join a story. Come visit Baja Marionettes, with
Kay and her traveling stage. Puppetry workshops available ages 6 and
up. Create a story to tell to family, friends, and quests.
EAST CAPE GUILD BAKE SALE!
Want a cookie or piece of cake after lunch to satisfy your sweet
tooth? The East Cape Guild will be holding a bake sale with lots of
tasty goodies. We will also have the latest version of the East Cape
Cooks & Amigos cookbooks. Look for us in the food area. All proceeds
go to help local high school students stay in school.

For the first time EVER the ranch families from the Sierra de la
Laguna will be
participating in the Festivale de Artes on 3 April. They will share
one large
booth, so look for the RESERVA DE LA SIERRA DE LA LAGUNA sign. You
will be
buying directly from these timid, dignified and beautiful people who
live in the
biosphere. Here's a partial list of what they are bringing to sell:

I will be showing my new Exvoto Paintings at the Arts Festival
in Los Barriles on April 3rd.
This Mexican Folk Art is a tradition of giving thanks to
someone (usually a Saint) for a miracle (milagro).
My theme this year is animals! For example, the Rooster tells
the hen they must give thanks to the Virgin of Guadalupe for the
miracle that the farmer is a vegetarian. This painting is sold but
come see
what the cow, the dove, the whale and the goat have to be thankful
for!
I will also be showing my small watercolours and some paintings by
Jeff Heintzman.
