May 5-6, 2011 - Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower. The Eta Aquarids
are a light shower, usually producing about 10 meteors per
hour at their peak. The shower's peak usually occurs on May
5 & 6, however viewing should be good on any morning from
May 4 - 7. The radiant point for this shower will be in the
constellation Aquarius. Best viewing is usually to the east
after midnight.

A shout out to ALMA or any interested local! We have been
nursing back to health a baby Xandu's hummingbird. They are
indigenous to this area of Baja Calif. We have had her for
about 2 weeks now. She is old enough to fly, but
unfortunately has a broken shoulder and will have to remain
as someones pet bird. We are returning to Baja Norte at the
end of May. I don't think she would survive the truck ride
home with two dogs and two people in an extra cab. Hotel,
check points, etc. I think it could easily scare her to
death. We are hoping to find someone willing to foster her
or adopt her. She is fun. Perches on your finger, sits on
your shoulder, etc. I made a cage for her. With a little
research online, it is easy to find all the information you
need to make a hummingbird a permanent household pet. A
hummingbird is often kept as a house pet. Please email me at

you and you can come and visit. Interested parties only.

As many of you know, JoAnn Hyslop is moving to Los Angles,
California to live with her large and growing family. She
will continue to contribute articles to the East Capers
newspaper as the Foreign Correspondent but has passed the
job of managing editor on to me. I look forward to working
with the community and businesses as we move the newspaper
forward. We want to continue to publish interesting and
informative articles for the East Cape readers. Please send

and I greatly reccomend him. He is very good. We have been
going to him since he worked at angel's touch and he is by
far the best dentist we have ever been to. His prices are

REPORTS
a. We stayed in El Rosario at the Baja Cactus Hotel, it is
next to the Pemex station. Rooms were nice and big, hot
showers and pet friendly on the lower level, price was 350
pesos. They have a website (not completed) that has their

Also crossing at the Tijuana border is a mess, the
crossing is under construction, coming back through Tecate
was good. There is not a lot of construction going on
between there and Ensenada.

c. My Generac 15KW (propane) generator seems to have a mind
of its own, starting up on what appears to be a random
basis. I keep it on the "Auto" setting but when it decides
to run, it may go from a couple minutes to indefinitely
(stopping only when I turn it off). We've adjusted the line
monitor but that doesn't seem to do the job. It still works
great when the electricity goes off, stopping after the
power comes back on. Any thoughts out there in Ponyland?
Suggestions as to a repair technician who is familiar with
emergency generators? Preferably Generac. Ed in Los

winners of US open competitions and Peoples Choice. Brett
will construct and exhibition piece on the beach at the end
