Heart Attacks, Sporting Injuries, Car & ATV Accidents
Perhaps a bit ‘tongue in cheek’, but the demographic truth
of our East Cape pueblo is that many of us are aging
athletes at risk of having an accident or active retirees
waiting to have a heart attack (yikes!) As to the random
aspect of car accidents – not to mention ATV’s - we’re all
at risk. To close the gap on lifesaving emergency response
for these attacks, injuries and accidents, our dedicated
East Cape Health Care team has joined forces with part time
local homeowner Michael Carr, an emergency response
specialist and founder of International Emergency Services
Foundation (IESF) whose mission is to enhance the life
saving capabilities of emergency services providers and
organizations throughout the world. Carr and his highly
qualified team of Chico, California-based Paramedics and
Firefighters will be training our local emergency response
providers beginning this week with cutting edge techniques
and state of the art equipment to assure timely and
qualified response during accidents. Further, the team’s
analysis has determined that Automated Emergency
Defibrillators (AED’s) would highly benefit our local,
second home, and guest population. Able to be used by the
general public, AED’s have been recognized as the single
most important way to save the life of a heart attack victim
who has lost a pulse. The goal is to purchase four AED’s and
place them in strategic locations in our pueblo. To thank
the Firefighters and Paramedics for their volunteer efforts
and start down the road toward the purchase of AED’s, please
join us for a community wide Pig Roast Fundraiser this
coming Friday, May 20, 6 pm at the East Cape RV Resort. In
addition to a delicious dinner with beer, wine and alcohol,
a full slate of silent auction items donated by our vigilant
business community will be available and live music will
entertain us. Pig Roast Dinner tickets are available for
$150p/$15usd at Ameri-Med Clinic or the East Cape RV Resort.
Hurry in for your tickets and please join us on behalf of a
healthy community! Theresa

You may send in your ad every 2/3 days.
a. Hi folks, Charlie here,
I'm looking for a ride south to Los Barrilos for my son,
Madison, and I, on or about May 23rd. We're in Sacramento
for Madison"s graduation from the fire acadamy on the 21st.
I'll help with expences for gas and what not, and even throw
in a free box of Charlie's Chocolates when we get back. Any
ride south would be appreciated even, if it's only to San
Diego. (But all the way would be better.) Please contact us
at (530) 205-7404 or E-Mail me @
gettinghotinbaja@hotmail.com Thanks, Charlie
Thanks to Mariza, my wonderful assistant, the chocolate
shop is still open in my absence from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. Summer hours after I return will be from 10:00 a.m. to
10:00 p.m. with outdoor seating under the new palapa,
featuring "Charlie's Soft Serve Ice Cream": sundaes, banana
splits, chocolate dipped cones, sprinkles and the works. See
