We've had a great response and are grateful for this
community's interest in advancing our emergency response
system! With
our Plant Earth in mind, if you have a favorite glass for
your wine, beer or cocktails, please bring them and we'll
save on plastic. If you are hopeful to participate in
the silent auction, we can accept Credit Cards for purchase.
To start off the evening, beer, wine, and your favorite
cocktails - (not to mention firemen!) - will be ready at 6
pm! The band will play after dinner so wear your dancing
shoes!

ROAD
REPORTS
A. Thanks to everyone who sent directions to the Otay Mesa
border crossing. Made it there easily. This being said: I
would never use that border crossing again. I thought that
because it was so easy to reach and the line was not all
that long that this would be a walk in the park. Not
so…they had two lanes closed and for no apparent reason
while we were in line they closed 2 more…thus resulting in a
major (nah I can’t use that word) snafu with all the cars
trying to change lanes. Maybe because it it was around 5 and
time for a shift change? The nastiest person (negative,
rude, and downright hostile) in the world manned the booth
where I was in line. I almost told him to change his
attitude until I realized that he would most likely pull me
over into secondary. Honestly, I found out he had been
doing this for 25 years. I think it’s time for him to
retire. My friend (we caravanned) was not so lucky…she did
get pulled over to secondary…and didn’t get out of there for
over an hour. Never again…At least at San Ysidro they smile
and welcome you home and pass you right through. The wait
was about the same at both crossings but Otay was easier to
get to. Other than that: road conditions: Not good. Lots
of construction throughout southern Baja. A long wait
coming up the mountain between Constitucion and Loreto.
Only one lane of traffic at a time and we waited 40 minutes
to be waved through. Several others like this along the
way. Lots of dirt and tar. I’ve made this trip 25 times
and this is the worst trip I had regarding delays and
construction. Funny, when I drove down in October and then
again in January the roads were fine..no potholes or any
thing that looked like it needed to be torn up and redone.
One extra military checkpoints and they went through
everything but the suitcases. Please don’t reply since I
am travelling and email service will be sporadic.

I went to look it up on their website but the website was
under construction so there was no information.
Sad to say, but I forgot the name of the hotel by now.
