BLOOD DRIVE IN LOS BARRILES WITH SANTA JOSEFINA BLOOD BANK
In the US we don´t give a second thought to obtaining or giving a
pint of blood in an Emergency situation. To take the frustration and
mystery out of donating blood here in Baja, East Cape Health Center
will be holding a BLOOD DRIVE on Wed June 1 starting at 8 am behind
the Amerimed Clinic. The Blood Mobile will arrive around 8 AM.
While you are there please fill out the EMERGENCY CONTACT
INFORMATION FORM and offer feedback to Santa Josefina Blood Bank for
the next emergent "Golden Hour".

You truly overwhelmed us and we at East Cape Health Center, are
still in awe. Last Friday night over 200 of our Baja neighbors,
friends and guests came to our Pig Roast Fundraiser at the East Cape
RV Resort. By evening’s end, we had four AED’s donated with a
combined value of $5,600 and we now are more than halfway to our
community goal. Further, with the combined purse from dinner
tickets, bar sales, silent auction items donated from our generous
business community and cash donations, we will be able to donate
monies back to IESF toward their cost of training, educational
materials and our emergency equipment upgrades for the Buena Vista
Fire Department AND purchase 2 more AEDs! A huge thanks to the
California firefighters for their commitment to ongoing support in
our area.
Our goal at East Cape Health Center,
coupled with IESF (International Emergency Services Foundation) both
non profit organizations, is to close the gap by improving the
quality of care, response and timeliness to accidents. We want to
encourage all in our community to become more informed about
emergency response and to know where to go, who to call and how to
get help fast.
Our thanks go out to our local friends who
DONATED their time and talents : Bob and the Leftovers for the
music; to Isabel for organizing the Pig feed with her fantastic
catering skill and to all the East Cape business owners for our
great silent auction.
Very special thanks to those who donated
our first 4 AED's : Kim Plotkin, Frank & Linda Tally, Suzy and Eddie

Beta. It looks like they're targeting users outside the US, and are
going to offer the "Big Four" Networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX), as
well as PBS, ESPN, CW, A & E, Animal Planet, Bravo, Comedy Central,
Discovery Channel, History Channel, TBS, TNT, USA Network, and other

to all my friends. My last day at Galería Los Angeles (located at La
Casa de Vos next door to Caleb's Cafe) is Tuesday, May 29th. I plan
