The 2012 bird photo calendars have finally arrived and are for sale. Four different calendars: two different Baja bird photos, and two different Central America photos.      Please take a minute and read the news letter of this small orphanage that gets no outside help to speak of, we have been trying to find a Corporate sponsor or church's or individuals that can help this little orphanage get on its feet.
     In Mexico, these orphanages get no state or federal funding, most of them have large corp sponsors, Buena Vidao Orphanage is new with very poor buildings, the children are kept clean and good sleeping rooms out of the weather, with no heat of course. We we were their this morning and they were eating refried beans for breakfast, we provide as much as we can, but there is so much to do, it is mind boggling, if only you could come here for a visit, your heart would cry also.
     If you are at all interested in helping, we are setting up a non profit organization to receive funds, which we are still working on *and looking for guidance*. 100% of any moneys will go direct to the orphanage in the form of their needs.
     If you know of any church's, companies, that might be able to help, please have them contact me.

     Without much fanfare, Google added "Voice Command Searches" to their Ipad, Itouch and Iphone apps. Update to the newest version of the Google App and you will notice a microphone in the top right corner of that app. Press the mike icon and tell it your search criteria. Within seconds you will find a list of appropriate searches. It's a lower level competitor to Apple's Siri on the IPhone 4s.
     There are two significant upgrades available to the Magic Jack phone system. Remember, Magic Jack is the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system that allows you to make phone calls to the US through high speed internet connections. They have added Magic Jack Plus that allows you to plug directly into your router without having to have the computer turned-on. They also have added an App to the Iphone, Ipad and Itouch that allows you to make calls to and from the US. The Magic Jack App works only on Wifi and not 3G. The calls that I have made were pretty clear.

Sky event tonight (Tues). If you are not familiar with Iridium Satellite Flares, tonight there is a chance to see one. Go outdoors around 6:15 pm to accustom your eyes to the growing darkness. In the western sky you should spot Venus shining brightly. Below it at the 5 o'clock position you might see Mercury. Now look south at a point about 1/3 of the distance from the horizon to the zenith (point overhead). At 6:20:18 pm (20 minutes and 18 seconds after 6 +/- a second) a "star" should slowly appear over about 6 seconds. It should become brighter than Venus before it fades from view. Tom S.

a.  I had about 25 emails from people asking me about Direct TV Service here in Los Barriles after I posed the question in a previous Pony. Not one response that I got said they were getting the service anymore. I had the guide and the searching for satellite heading, but no picture. I contacted Direct TV from here in L.B. about 5 times and they said they were sending me a signal, but I never got it. I have decided to go back to the USA and get Dish service. That seems to be the easiest after all of my research. Please don't send me anymore emails I am leaving tomorrow. Thanks, Eileen
