This is a system much better than Magic Jack
and cheaper than Vonage. You pay the one time fee (purchase
price) and about $3 per month (utility taxes) after that. Ooma
was rated by Consumers Report as the best phone system of all
phone systems including wired. We have one and it's perfect.

at Costco USA is over $200. This sale only comes up about once a

Baja Foreign Business Group to Meet -
Courtesy La Paz Gringos - After taking some time off this
summer, we are having our first meeting of the Baja Foreign
Business Group Oct. 18 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Dinghy Dock
Restaurant. There will be a 1/2 hour social and then a meeting
from 7-8 p.m. Juli Goff and Jill Roldan of Tailhunters started
the group. We encourage foreign business owners and others who
simply want to contribute to attend our first organizational and
planning meeting. Be sure to bring brochures on your business to
pass around. Our purpose is to help support each other to become
more successful and to have fun along the way. We will be
bringing in guest speakers on issues you deem important. All
meetings are in English and we will have a translator available
when needed for speakers.
So, come on out to the Dinghy Dock Restaurant
(overlooking the Palmira Marina). We look forward to seeing you
there. It will help to have an idea of the number of people
coming, so please email me at

Saturday night at 6:00 PM! (Oct. 15) We are located just before
the official entrance to La Ribera on the south side of the main
road. We will feature a SPECIAL DINNER for $120.00 pesos to
celebrate our Grand Reopening. Beginning Sunday, October 16th,
we will be open from 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM for breakfast, lunch

a. Yes, I am getting ready to head to Los
Barriles, and can convoy down the mainland, taking the ferry at
Topolobampo mid December 2011. I helped a couple last year on
their trip, language translation at the auto permit place just
south of Nogales, and helped with translating at the port where
you need several documents to board the ferry from mainland to
the Baja and La Paz. Anyone looking to travel with someone who
has made the trip about 11 times since 2000, let me know and I
will fill you in on necessary documents you will need to travel
though Nogales and obtain vehicle papers at the Auto Permit
Authority, and finally, get on the Baja Ferries in Toplopbampo.
This is an overnight trip. You can take pets, but they need tor
