coming Nov. 1st. between 10 am and 2 p.m. Joining in the
festivities Master Artist Antonio Viveros will be here to greet

The Rotary Club of Los Barriles Cabo Este has
a very exciting year planned with many existing project
continued and some new ones planned. The following is a calendar
of events for planning your year.
Nov 20 City parade and the kick off our new
Diabetes project.
Jan 12- 16 Lord of the winds.
Jan 14 Run with the winds, Pancake breakfast
and the East Cape Classic Bocce Ball championship.
Feb 17 Marde Gras Parade and dinner.
March 24 Amistad Award and dinner.
April 18 Rotary Cares.
April 21 Diabetes Screening day.
April 28 Rotary at Work.
May 13 Mothers day event.
In addition ongoing projects include the
maintenance of the City entry fountain, continued support for
the Albergues, College Scholarships, and a new project to help
turtle preservation (Turtle Touch).

Hello, My name is Olivia Brower. I attend
Universidad Mundial in La Paz where I am a 3rd year student
majoring in tourism. Our class has the opportunity to have guest
speakers from the tourism industry in Mexico talk to us about
what they do and what carreer opportunities are available in the
tourism field to give us a better idea of what we want to do
before we graduate. The seminars are scheduled for the last week
of October. My classmates and I are excited about attending the
seminars and participating in the workshops because of the great
information that will be presented. In order to be able to have
these speakers and workshops we have to raise money to help
cover the costs. We have been putting on bakesales at our school
to help come up with some of the money. Since our school is a
private school, the government doesn't help out with this type
of thing. Thankfully Julie Marks of East Cape Vacation Rentals
was graciously generous enough to be the holder of our donations
can. The donations can will be in her office starting Monday.
Her office is located in Plaza del Pueblo, #17. Her office hours
are Mon-Fri 10AM-3PM and Sat 10AM-1PM, If you would like to call
the number is 141 0381. I will have the official letter from my
school director with my signature there with the can. thank you
so very much and lets hope that we can make it to these

DISCUSSION AIRPORT
TOURIST TAX FOR MEXICAN RESIDENTS
a. We fly through LAX. The Alaska Air area
has a customer service desk with the reimbursement forms. You
show your ticket and FM3 or whatever and they complete the form.
A few weeks later you get the reimbursement (usually through the
credit card you paid with). --

a. Any ideas on how to trap (live) a big
iguana? One has taken up residence in my air conditioner (a

c. TV recording: I am hoping to find somebody
in Pony Land that can record, VHS or DVD, two tv programs for me
next week. One is on StarChoice, the History Channel, Ice Pilots
NWT and is shown on Wed evening. The other is on HBO, first
showing is on Friday, the Bill Maher Show. We will be in transit
to La Ribera and will miss these shows. Thank you for any help.

e. We are driving down from California to Los
Barriles on October 26th. This is our first time driving it AND
bringing our dog. Would appreciate any helpful pointers about
making the trip go smoothly with a dog. Also would appreciate
some clarification about dog food being confiscated. Is this
something that has happened in both directions or just coming
