Let’s talk Immigration – Francisco Gonzalez
Nolasco from Southern Baja Legal Services in La Swell be hosting
an informative talk on immigration issues this Saturday Oct.
22at Buzzard Bay Rest. here in Los Barriles starting at 10am to
about Noon. We encourage all foreigners who might have a
question on immigration to come-out and talk to us. Our purpose
is to teach foreigners everything there is to know about
immigration: the benefit of having a visa, the differences in
visas, how to get one, which one is right for you, your rights &
obligations etc. And ,if anyone would like to apply for or renew
a visa right there, after the talk, we will have a laptop and
printer ready to fill-out forms and letters to bring back to La
Paz, same with a camera to take the immigration accepted
pictures so you do not need to go out of town for the pictures.
So, come on out to the Buzzards Bay Cantina
Restaurant (at the plaza) this Sat. at 10am. We look forward to

East Cape Arts Association Abandons Art
Center Project
LOS BARRILES, Mexico – October 19, 2011 – The
East Cape Arts Association announced today that they are
abandoning the Colina del Sol art center project. After careful
consideration of the current global economic situation, the
Association’s board of directors has determined that sufficient
fund cannot be raised to move forward with the project.
The board would like to thank all those who
contributed and worked on this project. Carlos Estrada from
Colina del Sol deserves a special thanks for his willingness to
donate the land for the art center and for his continued
support.
Any monies raised for the art center project
will be returned. All monies received by the Association in
future will be used for the children’s art programs. For more

Yesterday I was reminded about a quick cure
for Bee Stings. I opened the screen door and felt this
excruciating pain at the tip of my index finger. I looked at my
finger and there was a stinger stuck in it. I immediately
searched the house for and old copper penny and applied a little
moisture to it and pressed it on the wound. Within minutes the
total pain was gone. New pennies I understand do not have copper
in them so they don't work as well. So save those old pennies.
They still have some use besides buying things. Jorge Loco

I know most of you who donated to David Goodman this summer didn't know him. As I had written, I only met him a couple weeks before he died and that was because he had taken pictures of the Costa Brava fire. Linda Schwartz sent me his picture to share. Thank you Linda. Cheryl

DISCUSSIONS
In response to the couple who had trouble
getting their pet thru the airport. We had the same issue. We
got our certificate at local vet, they gave us the 2 copies, not
the original. Gal at airport was very insistent that we needed
original. Finally she made up another document, and let us go
thru. We were also asked about the quantity of dog food we had
with us. After the security baggage check, there were two ladies
who reviewed our certificate before letting us push the green
button. Strange, as last time no one even glanced at our dog.
