I have discovered a
Wireless Internet extender that is compatible with the 2Wire 2701
series router; that is most commonly used router in our area of
Mexico. So what does that mean, great question and I'm glad you
asked. If you have difficulty receiving a WiFi signal in the far
reaches of your home, that means you have a couple cement walls with
either rebar or metal mesh. Both will greatly reduce how far your
WiFi signal will carry. If you are trying to tap into your neighbors
WiFi (with permission of course), an Extender will help that one bar
signal jump to 4 bars. The problem with most extenders is finding
one that is compatible with the chip set in the main router (2Wire
2701). The Netgear WN300RP solves that problem, amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Netgear-Universal-WN3000RP-Wi-Fi-Extender/dp/B004YAYM06/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334275410&sr=8-1
I recently acquired one, installed it and it works just fine. Follow
the installation instructions closely and you can easily pump up a
signal across 100' and through two walls. The unit is not certified
for exterior use, but it doesn't rain much here and you can protect
it from the sun. Here is a link to the manual and detailed product

I met the author of this book here in Los Barriles - it is hilarious
- particularly for those of us who are RVers. I highly recommend it
and it is definitely cheap enough. If you have a kindle or an ipad
you can easily download it from Amazon. a. Left LB on Monday April 9th for San Ignacio solo in a pick-up pulling a 10ft enclosed trailer. Roads were all clear with no construction, made great time, stayed in San Ignacio at the Hotel Posada (455 miles, 9 hrs). Day two, once again roads were all clear, no active construction probably due to the holiday, Military checkpoints were the usual bogus stuff. I crossed at Tecate at 7pm and there were only three cars in front of me (538 miles, 11 hrs). Notes: The big cut above Santo Tomas in 90% complete, hope they take some erosion control measure or it will be washed out in 2 years. Despite reports that the road from Ensenada to Tecate is finished are not true; they have quite a bit of work to do. There is about 20 miles that they have not even touched yet but I did see some survey markers. It was my best trip north bound ever. Be safe! Diego Ricardo Jiménez Mendoza d.flood316@gmail.com .

Just arrived in Reno after 3 days on the road. Most of the road was
fine except a stretch north from LA Bay to 10 miles north of
Catavina. Road w/ huge potholes and a surface lake a cheese grader.
I could feel the rubber being removed from the tires. No problem
with the Fed Inspections. No problem with the cops. Crossed at
Tacate but border closed at night and opens at 5 am. One hour time
difference from Baja time. Some road work on Hwy. 2. Michael Babcock a. Can anyone recommend a good solar/propane generator technician who services the east cape.
