Earth Day in Los Barriles
b. Thank you Tehroma for bringing us
together for a successful Earth Day.
The airing of the Travel Channel's Sand Master's
program featuring Los Barriles' Lord of the Wind Showdown has been
moved to a new date. April 26th, 2012. Please check your local guide
for the time. Once again Dan and Chris would like to thank our
incredible community for your support and enthusiasm for our second
Lord of the Wind Showdown. Enjoy the show!
Thanks to all of you who attended the East Cape
Guild Bocce Ball Tournament last Thursday. Congratulations to the
winning team: John Torres, Connie Unmacht, Michael Boughton &
Michael Tripp. A great big thanks to all of the Guild members, their
spouses and other members of the community who worked hard to put
this event together. All profits will go to fund scholarships for
our local high school kids.
A lot of us are heading north. So here is an easy
project at home in the US. Did you know that the highest definition
signal for your TV comes free over the old fashion air waves.
Satellite and Cable TV compress their signal for transmission and
decompress that signal at your home. Direct over the air TV does
not, it is pure HD. All you need is a small antenna, not the monster
that you could hang laundry. In addition to the normal channels, you
can receive bonus channels from the broadcasters. For instance,
Channel 4 will include 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 from your TV's built-in digital
receiver. To see if you can recieve the signals, use the following
web site:

tell you which stations you can receive but also what size antenna
