RECYCLE NEWS: NEW DAY!
In our continuing pursuit to find the best options for our
recyclables, we are changing back to the first Thursday of the month
to correspond with 'Yo Reciclo' in the Los Cabos area. Please make a
note that EAST CAPE RECYCLING BAJA'S monthly collection and
recycling day will be the FIRST THURSDAY of EACH MONTH, beginning
with THURSDAY, MAY 3. Please bring your prepared recycle materials
to the recycle center at East Cape RV and Casas, 9am to 11am.
We need volunteers for recycle day! One hour is all we ask. If you
can volunteer on May 3, please email me so I know we have enough
help. Come with energy, gloves, a hat and a smile. Questions?
lynnmirassou@gmail.com
Also, we want to announce the acceptance of EPS No.6
and hope that you will begin saving it and bringing it to us with
your other recycles. Here is a description of what it is and how to
recognize it:
Not to be confused with polystyrene/styrofoam, EPS no.
6 is white foam commonly used to package tv's, home appliances,
computers, coffee makers, etc. If you look at the foam closely, it
will look like a lot of white beads all put together. If you break
up the foam, it becomes little pieces or beads. Some of the foam
will be marked with the recycle symbol with either a 6 inside it. Or
it may even say EPS6. EPS stands for Expanded Polystyrene. It takes
up a lot of space in landfills and is extremely toxic to burn in
open fires. Eco Design & Build of Mexico - Home
www.ecodesignbuildmexico.com is a construction
company in LaVentana, Baja who recycles this type of styrofoam to
make a durable, fire-resistant and highly insulative block for home
building. Isn't that cool?

This darling Doxie mix puppy was dumped in Spa
the other night. We
have cleaned her up. (She smells so pretty) She is really sweet and
in need of a good home. We don't think she is going to be very big.
Right now she probably weighs about 8 pounds. Our best guess is she
is about 6 months old. We have nicknamed her Tacita. Please call us
if you would like to give her a good home. Liz 141-0130
